SUMMARY 

The Senior Manager of Operations is responsible for the venue management of the Brooklyn Basketball Training Center. This role includes overseeing building maintenance, scheduling the facility, managing staffing schedules, and coordinating with vendors who provide various services such as cleaning, security, and audio-visual support. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in facility and event management, strong leadership skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. 

The Senior Manager of Operations will report to the Vice President of Hospitality Operations. 

WHAT YOU WILL DO 

  • Venue Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Brooklyn Basketball Training Center, ensuring the facility is maintained to the highest standards. 
  • Building Maintenance: Manage the maintenance and repair of all building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and structural components. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards. 
  • Scheduling: Work with the Program Manager to develop and manage facility scheduling to accommodate various events, practices, and other activities. 
  • Staffing Oversight: Oversee Facilities staffing schedules for the facility, ensuring adequate coverage for all events and activities. 
  • Vendor Coordination: Coordinate with vendors who provide services such as cleaning, security, and audio-visual support. Negotiate contracts and oversee the quality of services provided. 
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage the budget for facility operations, including maintenance, repairs, and vendor services. Monitor expenses and implement cost-saving measures where possible. 
  • Emergency Response: Develop and implement emergency response plans for building-related incidents. Ensure staff are trained and prepared to handle emergencies effectively. 
  • Operational Efficiency: Develop, adjust, and improve standard operating procedures to enhance operational efficiency. 
  • Compliance: Ensure the facility complies with relevant regulations and standards, including safety and accessibility requirements.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Facility Management, Business Administration, or a related field. 
  • 7-10 years in facility or event management logistics with at least 5 years in a leadership role. 
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance practices, and safety regulations, including technical proficiency in relevant facility management software. 
  • Significant project management skills, with proven experience managing large-scale projects. 
  • Certification in Facility Management (CFM) or similar credential preferred. 
  • Knowledge of sustainability and energy management practices preferred. 
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed. 
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.

SALARY RANGE 

$85,000 - $100,000 base salary 

WORK ENVIRONMENT 

The incumbent will work primarily in an office environment located in Industry City and our new Brooklyn Basketball Training Center. They will attend Brooklyn Nets and Liberty games on evenings, weekends and holidays as required by the position. 

Travel Requirements (10-20% travel): will be required to travel to various areas within the NYC Metro Area as required of the position.
