SUMMARY

Brooklyn Basketball brings the Brooklyn Nets and New York Liberty together to establish a community-first basketball experience. Our goal is to grow the game for participants of all ages through professionally led clinics and camps, community-focused events, instructional videos, unique basketball content and much more.  

The Sales Associate, Brooklyn Basketball will support revenue growth and audience development for Brooklyn Basketball programs, camps, clinics, memberships, and community activations. This role is responsible for engaging prospective customers, converting leads into registrations and memberships, and delivering a high-quality, relationship-driven sales experience that reflects The Brooklyn Way. 

This is a role for a motivated, people-oriented professional looking to build a career in sales, community-focused programming, and youth athletics. It will report to the Director of Business Operations, Brooklyn Basketball, and will play a key role in selling programming and revenue growth.  

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Drive revenue growth by strategically promoting the full portfolio of Brooklyn Basketball offerings, including but not limited to After-School Club, camps, clinics, rentals, and birthday experiences. 
  • Build relationships with prospective customers via outbound communication efforts and enhance those relationships through face-to-face meetings. 
  • Discover leads by researching local basketball stakeholders and prospective clients and communities within the metropolitan area, developing network referrals. 
  • Convert interest into enrollment through personalized communication and engagement.  
  • Capture customer data for Brooklyn Basketball participants and ensure follow up and communication by maintaining the CRM and executing customer journey communication. 
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the Brooklyn Basketball Training Center, managing front desk operations, greeting and assisting families while being a visible brand ambassador.
  • Attend all Brooklyn Basketball priority events to leverage face-to-face meeting opportunities with prospective families and assist with sales efforts through strategic incentives. 
  • Represent Brooklyn Basketball at the Brooklyn Basketball Training Center and select Brooklyn Nets, New York Liberty and other lead-generating activations as needed.
  • Collaborate with Brooklyn Sports and Entertainment Ticket Group sales department to develop opportunities to enhance and add value to the customer journey. 
  • Conduct research on sales best practices across professional and youth sports to inform strategy, opportunities and innovative product offerings. 
  • Meet and exceed all key performance indicators deemed appropriate. Indicators include, but are not limited to, phone calls, emails, digital and in-person meetings. 
  • Participate in training and development sessions led by Brooklyn Sports & Entertainment Ticket Sales leadership team.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • 1-2 years of experience in sales, community programs, or a related field preferred 
  • Bachelor’s degree required. 
  • Proficiency in Salesforce or comparable CRM platforms preferred 
  • Strong time management and organizational skills 
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, exuding a high level of energy and enthusiasm. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and related software skills. 
  • Knowledge of basketball fundamentals. 
  • The availability to attend required events as an essential function of the position, including the ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.

SALARY RANGE

$66,500-$67,500 + Discretionary Bonus

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The incumbent will work primarily in an office environment but will be required to travel to various areas within the NYC Metro Area to attend community events, clinics, etc. This role will require commitment to work hours on evenings and weekends.
