SUMMARY

This position will sit in the Global Partnerships department reporting to the EVP Global Partnerships. This applicant will be passionate about improving our department operations, using data to drive key business decisions, seeing opportunities for operational efficiency, and supporting process improvement. 

The Director, Global Partnerships Business Operations & Insights will guide the Global Partnerships department’s evolution into a leading analytics minded sales and service organization. This role will evangelize and nurture the value of a data-driven approach and decision-making model, educating the department on how it can positively impact our ability to drive business objectives, generate revenue and give us a competitive advantage. 

The Director, Global Partnerships Business Operations & Insights will be responsible for owning the research, measurement, and consumer insights strategy for the department. This individual will serve as a trusted resource for department leadership to support sales/renewal processes, steward priority projects, and roadmap planning. The position will collaborate with the Partnership Marketing & Sales teams to establish critical metrics, measure return on objective and benchmark success with all partners.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Lead the team with a focus on improving our day-to-day department operations by using data to drive key business decisions, finding opportunities for operational efficiency, and supporting process improvement.
  • Build and implement a road map for the Business operations and Insights team, identifying short term, long-term and ongoing projects.
  • Serve as a trusted resource for department leadership to support department processes, steward priority projects, and roadmap planning.
  • Provide strategic input to yearly business planning process.
  • Support all properties within the BSE Global portfolio.
  • Be responsible for a portfolio of third-party vendor relationships that provide the tools/capabilities to fulfill against all department research needs, and ensure we optimize utilization of each vendor.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional leaders and managers on developing internal capabilities and solutions while coordinating with different internal (Partnerships, BI, & Marketing, among others) and external (vendors) teams.
  • Lead the team on research, measurement, consumer insights, category insights, and lead development strategy.
  • Support all efforts to drive adoption and utilization of CRM and other department research platforms.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to drive efficiency with reporting and department dashboards.
  • Work closely with sales team to review rate card and inventory management accuracy and update as needed.
  • Collaborate with the sales and partnership marketing team on storytelling efforts and enable powerful, data-led narratives to live across all sales materials (one-sheets, decks, case studies, recaps, sizzle videos, etc.)
  • Support the strategy and implementation of the Partnership measurement & recap process, highlighted by establishing return on objective (ROO) tracking and reporting dashboards.
  • Work closely with team members to elevate sales team prospecting approach to better identify opportunities for new business, develop category perspectives and formulate revenue projections, while assisting in category analysis for the department
  • Join internal and client meetings, as needed to highlight data driven messaging and contextualize insights.
  • Support team’s efforts and find efficiencies to monitor food and beverage sales, trends and provide insights on how to approach current prospects and prospective partners through concessionaire dashboard.
  • Partner with Business Intelligence team to translate findings from our data warehouse and other sources into client facing reports & insights.
  • Supervise the execution and prioritization queue of all research needs for partners and prospects.
  • Serve as a subject area authority, mining for ideas & findings that can improve our capabilities and identify “white space” opportunities for business/revenue growth.
  • Special ad hoc projects as needed.

 

WHAT YOU WILL BRING:

  • 6+ years of professional experience working in sponsorship, agency, marketing or advertising, roles with a specialization around strategy, research, consumer insights and/or analytics.
  • Experience working for/with a Revenue generating group (i.e. sponsorship, ticket sales, ad sales) and at a Sports, Entertainment or Media company is a strong plus.
  • Experience working with internal proprietary data, CRM, and/or external reporting systems such as Relo, YouGov, Salesforce, Conviva, Tableau, Nielsen, Placer Ai, SponsorUnited
  • Proficient in process and project management: planning, prioritization, and meeting deadlines
  • Possess sharp analytical skills with the ability to analyze & translate data into easily digestible, actionable insights and leverage to advise decision making & measure success.
  • Bachelor's degree is required.
  • Significant knowledge of industry trends and ability to serve as a subject area expert.
  • Comprehend research principles: sampling, survey design, randomization, etc.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

May be required to travel on rare occasions (<5% travel); trips may require air travel and/or overnight stay for one or more nights.

SALARY RANGE:

$100,000 - $125,000

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Works primarily in an office environment but upon request will be expected to attend games and other events on evenings, weekends and holidays.
