Event Management: Event Operations/Management
This position is responsible for supporting the Vice President of Programming with all booking functions at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. This position will support all areas of arena events including concerts, sporting events, special events and family shows. In addition, this position will be responsible for developing and managing new event opportunities.
• Manage events in all required areas, as assigned by Vice President of Programming, including, but not limited to, deal negotiation, date confirmation, event contracting, daily event management, and event night responsibilities;
• Work with key internal stakeholders on maximizing profit for events including liaising with Marketing, Operations, Box Office, Communications, Suites, and Sponsorship team members
• Manage non-traditional events from concept to completion including ideation, strategic partnerships, budget planning, event analysis, event execution and financial settlement;
• Ensure event insurance certificates, contracts and deposits are received in a timely manner from promoters;
• Research show opportunities and provide research results;
• Attend programming meetings or other meetings as appropriate;
• Send internal booking confirmations and notifications;
• Communicate with BSE management team and ownership groups, as well as promoters, agents and managers in a professional and respectable manner;
• Attend arena events to facilitate relationship building and to provide support to the Vice President of Programming, which may include welcoming distinguished guests and/or facilitating business development opportunities;
• Collaborate with Artist Experience team to ensure artist and key guests receive a premium experience at Barclays Center;
• Manage special requests from clients for Barclays Center events, including tickets, catering and other ancillary needs;
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree or Associates Degree required;
• 5-7 years minimum management/leadership experience in an entertainment venue; preferably with a focus on event booking and/or event development
• Must have strong familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook;
• It is critical that the incumbent have the ability and emotional maturity to exercise sound judgment regarding confidential matters and hold a high regard for ethical behavior;
• Must have an uncompromised ability to protect the confidentiality and privacy of others in addition to company documents and records when privy to sensitive information;
• Must have flexibility to work late hours, early mornings and/or weekends as needed;
• Must have strong independent thinking, reasoning, problem solving and decision making skills;
• Must have the ability to maintain an impeccable professional appearance;
• Must possess a strong ability to manage one’s own time, prioritize tasks when given clearly defined goals and objectives and be self-directed and able to work independently;
• Must have the ability to demonstrate uncompromised judgment and discretion with regard to interpersonal relationships;
• Must have a strong sense of self-awareness and emotional intelligence;
• Must have truly outstanding customer service and interpersonal communication skills;

Travel Requirements
The incumbent may be required to travel on a limited basis. Trips may require air travel and/or overnight stay away from home for one or more nights.

Physical Demands
This position requires the ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
Work Environment
The incumbent will be based in offices at Barclays Center but will be required at Corporate Headquarters on occasion. S/he may be expected to attend games as well as other events at Barclays Center and other affiliated on evenings, weekends and holidays.
