Job Summary:
Under the leadership of the Sr. Manager of Live Events for the College Park Skyhawks, the seasonal assistant supports logistics and operations for all College Park Skyhawks home games, community activations, special appearances and other events as assigned to the affiliate brand. This position will play a vital role in supporting College Park Skyhawks event presentations executing day-to-day logistics for internal and external talent, sponsorship activations, and in game contests/presentations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities for the College Park Skyhawks:
In Office
Assist with administrative/office duties as assigned , including, but not limited to department calendar management, prop inventory, game day planning and appearances.
Assist with the coordination and communication of requests for all cheer/mascot for events both inbound and internal.
Assist with coordinating logistics for talent auditions, photo shoots, trainings and rehearsals for Southside Crew, stage managers, interactive squad, and specialty groups.
Coordinate operational and administrative logistics for all specialty groups and performers including payroll, appearances, game day rehearsals, equipment and uniform needs.
Review and approve external talent submissions including but not limited to anthems, primetimes and halftimes , reviewing music and performances.
Game Day
Stage manage all Skyhawks games, lead meetings, create scripts as assigned and assign duties to the Floor Staff at Skyhawks home games.
Organize and manage onsite activations for game day events and provide recaps.
Serve as point of contact on game nights for prime time, anthem and halftime talent.
Research and present new ideas for contests and activations to help stay current and enhance the fan experience at games.
Assist with parking, credential and early access lists for security staff and other game day needs.
Community
Support special event needs including, but not limited to Colli’s Classroom, basketball operations, members events and all other grassroots marketing events.
Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Sport Marketing or related field
Experience with special event coordination and promotions
Detail-oriented; ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and produce quality work within tight deadlines
Strong written and verbal communication required
Ability to be a team player and collaborate effectively with different stakeholders
Entertainment savvy with an idea of current pop culture trends
Creative, innovative and self-motivated problem solver
Excellent organizational, administrative, communication and time management skills
Ability to think strategically and quickly in a high pressure environment
Ability to work non-traditional business hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed
Able bodied and capable of lifting up to 40 pounds
Outstanding people skills that allow you to build relationships with internal/external clients at all levels of an organization
Must have clear driving record, a current driver’s license and be willing to drive company vehicles and assist carrying heavy loads as needed
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
Hours: 40 hr/week max, benefit eligible
Preferred Skills
Prior professional sports experience
Strong knowledge of NBA G-League basketball
Performance team experience
