The Washington Nationals are seeking an experienced Plumber with a proven background in maintaining and operating large-scale plumbing systems in professional sports stadiums or similar high-capacity venues. The ideal candidate will bring advanced technical expertise, exceptional problem-solving skills, in the areas of plumbing technologies, fixture installation / repair, leak and flooding mitigation with a deep understanding and experience in the installation of various piping technologies and the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-demand environment to ensure all plumbing systems within Nationals Park operate at peak performance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain, repair, and service stadium-wide plumbing systems, including restrooms, concession stands, hospitality areas, and internal office spaces.
- Perform sprinkler system maintenance, including drum drips, inspections, and testing.
- Execute winterization shutdowns and de-winterization startups for all plumbing systems, ensuring seasonal readiness and preventing damage.
- Interpret and work from MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) drawings to locate, repair, and upgrade piping, valves, and fixtures.
- Respond promptly to and resolve emergency plumbing issues including clogged toilets, blocked sinks, and drainage backups in high-traffic areas.
- Maintain and service drainage systems, grease traps, sump pumps, and backflow preventers in accordance with applicable codes and regulations.
- Support concession kitchen operations by maintaining and repairing water supply and drainage lines, dishwashing stations, ice machines, and related fixtures
- Oversee compliance with all plumbing, health, and safety codes, ensuring all work meets or exceeds industry standards.
- Collaborate with other trades, including electrical, HVAC, and carpentry teams, to coordinate repair schedules and minimize operational disruptions.
- Maintain timely, accurate and detailed service records, including labor time, parts used, work accomplished, work orders, inspections, and preventive maintenance logs.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to plumbing apprentices and assist in contractor oversight for specialized plumbing projects.
- Access CMMS to review & complete work orders
- Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, shop drawings, schematic manufacturer’s specifications and other reference materials to determine appropriate job requirements and procedures
- Use variety of manual and power tools to support projects
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as required in team-oriented, can-do environment
- Support baseball games and baseball related events before, during and post-game
- Support non-baseball events including but not limited to concerts, meetings, weddings and large gatherings
- Operate equipment used in the maintenance of convention and arena facilities such as forklifts, high lifts, scissor lifts, and other maintenance equipment
- Set up equipment and tools for safe operation at job site
- Perform or supervise the performance of preventive and corrective maintenance of all plumbing systems
- Assist in maintenance and repair of systems and equipment including HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, fire suppression, boilers and associated equipment as well as general maintenance and upkeep activities
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
- Performs plumbing maintenance (e.g. replacement or repair of leaks in drains and faucets, unclogging of drains, trenching and laying new lines, replacing drain hoses on washers and similar devices, etc.).
- Install or supervise the installation of temporary water and drain hookups in support of users of the facility
- Perform duties and responsibilities with view toward department goals and resource conservation
- Establish and maintain cooperative- working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
- Working knowledge of PC based computer applications
- Support 3rd party tenants and rental spaces within the ballpark
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Minimum Education, Experience & Transportation Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent GED, or equivalent military experience
- Valid Plumber License in the District of Columbia (or ability to obtain reciprocity).
- Minimum 7 years of plumbing experience, with at least 3 years in a large-scale facility (preferably a professional stadium, arena, or convention center).
- Completion of an approved apprentice / vocational program or four years of progressively responsible experience
- Applicable plumbing license / certification preferred
- Knowledge of fire sprinkler systems, winterization procedures, and seasonal system startups.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and during game/event schedules.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills with a service-oriented mindset.
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds, work at heights, and in varying weather conditions.
- Great team and customer service skills.
- Able to work a demanding baseball schedule season.
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to respond to worksite within 90 min in the event of an emergency
Preferred Skills
- Experience working with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
- Proven expertise in MEP drawing interpretation and complex plumbing system troubleshooting.
- Experience with stadium restroom and concession plumbing infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of applicable building codes, safety regulations, and plumbing best practices.
- Prior supervisory or contractor oversight experience.

- Worker will be subject to inside and outside environmental conditions, extreme heat, extreme cold, noise, hazards and atmospheric conditions (fumes, odor, dust, mists, gases or poor ventilation).
- Job at times may require employee to function in a high activity and heavily crowded outdoor professional sports venue. May work at heights
- Requires an employee to perform strenuous tasks requiring strength, coordination, and balance
- Requires an employee to lift and move objects that weigh up to 50 lbs.
- Must be physically able to operate a variety of machinery and equipment
- Requires an employee to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb (ladders, stairs scaffolding, ramps, etc.), reach, walk, or stand for extended periods
- Requires walking / standing of >3 hours per day
Compensation:
The projected annual salary range for this position is $54,461.25 to $72,615.00 Actual pay is based on several factors, including but not limited to the applicant’s: qualifications, skills, expertise, education/training, certifications, and other organization requirements. Starting salaries for new employees are frequently not at the top of the applicable salary range.
