Summary:

The Washington Nationals Clubhouse Attendant is a crucial member of the team's support staff responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and cleanliness of the team’s clubhouse. This role involves a combination of logistical, organizational, and interpersonal skills. The Attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the team clubhouse, providing support to players, coaches, and staff, and ensuring the clubhouse functions efficiently.

The Nationals are a military-friendly organization actively recruiting veterans and spouses.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Clubhouse Maintenance:
• Clean and organize the clubhouse to maintain a professional and comfortable environment.
• Ensure that equipment, uniforms, and personal belongings are properly stored and maintained.
• Manage laundry services for players' uniforms and other team gear.

Player Support:
• Assist players with any clubhouse-related needs, such as providing towels, toiletries, or other personal items.
• Collaborate with equipment managers to address players' equipment requirements.
• Prepare and distribute snacks and refreshments for players and staff.

Logistics and Setup:
• Set up and organize the clubhouse before and after games, practices, and team events.
• Coordinate with team personnel to ensure that player and staff needs are met.

Communication:
• Maintain open communication with players, coaches, and staff to address any clubhouse-related issues.
• Report any facility or equipment issues to the appropriate personnel.

Security and Confidentiality:
• Ensure the security of the clubhouse and its contents, protecting players' personal belongings.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding team activities, discussions, and player interactions.

Inventory Management:
• Track and manage inventory of clubhouse supplies, ensuring that necessary items are always available.
• Work with team management to order and restock supplies as needed.

Requirements:
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in sports management is a plus.
• Previous experience in a clubhouse attendant role or similar position within a professional sports environment.
• Knowledge of baseball equipment, uniforms, and the unique needs of athletes.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on the team's schedule.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities necessary to perform essential functions:

• Strong time management and organizational skills; ability to take charge and accomplish all tasks.

Physical/Environmental Requirements:

• Hours will vary dependent on the schedule for the day. The Clubhouse Attendant will be required to work extended hours, weekends and holidays according to the baseball/events schedule.
• May work at heights. Employee will be exposed to inclement weather of varying degrees. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time, walk long distances, and climb up/down stairs. The employee is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or sit and must lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
