Summary:

Washington Nationals Philanthropies seeks a Summer Associate to help oversee the day-to-day operations of its premier in-stadium fundraiser – the 5050 Raffle. The In-Stadium Fundraising, Associate will report to the Associate, Marketing Operations and play a key role in both the raffle as well as other in-stadium fundraising initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support the operations of the 5050 Raffle headquarters at Nationals Park, supervising the Raffle for at least 50% of Nationals home games – supervisor responsibilities include but are not limited to:
    • Open the Raffle before each game worked, operationalizing the sales portal and setting sellers up for a successful shift
    • Accurately reconcile accounting following each Nationals home game supervised
    • Assist 5050 Raffle Ticket Sellers with raffle technology, selling location assignments and final individual sales sheets
    • Oversee the staff upkeep of 5050 in-park promotional items, such as sales kiosks
    • Work with Raffle vendor, Ascend, to troubleshoot technical issues related to raffle operations
  • Work closely with the Associate, Marketing Operations to execute an effective staffing and sales plan for the 5050 Raffle
  • Oversee administrative tasks related to the marketing strategy and execution of the 5050 Raffle and other in-stadium initiatives such as Scoreboard Messages and License Plates programs led by the Nationals charitable arm
  • Communicate effectively with other departments within the Washington Nationals Baseball Club such as Scoreboard Production, Box Office, Guest Experience, and Ballpark Operations
  • Assist with the creation and development of marketing materials related to in-stadium fundraising
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Bachelors degree (or 2024 graduate) preferred.
  • Must be detail oriented and have strong organizational skills.
  • Must have prior cash handling experience.
  • Must be able to work at least 50% of Nationals home games.
  • Ability to interact positively with fans and other motivated, high-energy fundraising teammates.
  • Must have the ability to work evenings, weekends and necessary holidays.
  • Interest in gaining knowledge within the sports industry preferred.
  • Interest in sports philanthropy or non-profit fundraising preferred.

Physical/Environmental Factors

This job requires employee to function in a high activity and heavily crowded outdoor professional sports venue. May work at heights. Employee will be exposed to inclement weather of varying degrees. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may need to stand for long periods of time, walk long distances, and climb up/down stairs.
