Position Summary:
The Analyst, Business Strategy & Analytics position supports departments across the Washington Nationals organization including Ticketing, Marketing, Corporate Partnerships, Nationals Park Events, Concessions, and Retail through data‑driven strategic analysis and high‑quality operational insights.
This position requires strong attention to detail, a qualitative and quantitative mindset, and a passion for using data to help the business make smarter, faster decisions. Successful hires will be able to translate data, research, and strategic insights into structured, narrative‑driven presentations that guide audiences through key messages and recommendations.
This is a junior-level full-time, salaried position. The Nationals are a military-friendly organization actively recruiting veterans and spouses.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Strategic Analysis and Revenue Support
- Partner with revenue‑generating departments to evaluate business performance, uncover emerging trends, and recommend actions that optimize revenue and fan engagement.
- Contribute to strategic projects such as sales forecasting, promotional effectiveness, market analyses, and business case development.
- Communicate findings clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Craft executive‑level decks that use storytelling techniques to distill complex topics into concise, persuasive narratives for both internal and external parties.
- Data Analysis and Modeling
- Work with large, multi‑source datasets (ticketing, CRM, concessions, retail, digital) to generate insights that guide operational and commercial decisions.
- Build and maintain financial or revenue‑focused models that support scenario planning, sensitivity analysis, and strategic prioritization.
- Ensure data accuracy and consistency when contributing to dashboards, KPI tracking, and performance reporting across departments.
- Business Intelligence and Reporting
- Support the creation of real‑time dashboards and visualizations for Ticketing, Marketing, Partnerships, Nationals Park Events, and Ballpark Operations.
- Assist in defining and tracking organizational KPIs.
Compensation:
The projected annual salary range for this position is $70,000 - $75,000 per year. Actual pay is based on several factors, including but not limited to the applicant’s: qualifications, skills, expertise, education/training, certifications, and other organization requirements. Starting salaries for new employees are frequently not at the top of the applicable salary range.

- • Extensive use of Excel for statistical analysis and modeling.
- • Proficiency in SQL.
- 1 - 3 years: • Experience in consulting, finance, consumer strategy, or a related industry.
- • Familiarity with Tableau or similar data visualization software.
Preferred
- • Passion for sports and comfort in fast paced environments.
- • Exposure to executive level deliverables.
- • Familiarity with CRM systems and ticketing platforms.
- • Knowledge of P&L structures and levers to optimize revenues and costs, especially in dynamic consumer markets.
- • Experience supporting commercial or revenue focused functions.
- • Familiarity with Python and R.
