Position Summary
Cooperstown All Star Village is seeking upbeat, self-motivated, and reliable Server assistants. The Server’s Assistant plays a key support role in delivering smooth, efficient, and highquality guest service. Responsible for running food, bussing tables, and maintaining clean, organized dining areas, this position ensures servers can focus on guest interaction and order accuracy. The Server’s Assistant works closely with servers, hosts, and kitchen staff to keep service flowing, deliver meals promptly, reset tables quickly, and maintain cleanliness standards throughout the dining room.
This role requires strong teamwork, attention to detail, and the ability to move quickly in a fastpaced environment while providing a positive experience for every guest.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet and seat guests in a friendly, efficient manner.
Manage waitlists and organize table turnover.
Communicate effectively with servers and management.
Maintain cleanliness of host stand and entry areas.
Provide support to the service team as needed.
Qualifications
Previous experience in food service, bussing, food running, or hospitality is helpful but not required.
Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fastpaced, teamoriented environment.
Strong communication skills for coordinating with servers, hosts, and kitchen staff.
Excellent attention to detail when resetting tables, delivering food, and maintaining cleanliness.
Ability to learn table numbers, menu items, and basic service steps.
Positive attitude, professionalism, and willingness to support the overall guest experience.
Reliable and punctual, with consistent work habits.
Ability to follow safety, sanitation, and allergenaware procedures.
Strong customer service mindset, even with limited direct guest interaction.
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements
Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8–10 hours).
Frequent lifting, carrying, and transporting of trays, bus tubs, and supplies (typically 20–50 lbs).
Repetitive bending, reaching, stooping, and quick movements throughout the shift.
Ability to handle hot plates, heavy trays, and full bus tubs safely.
Frequent exposure to kitchen heat, dining room noise, cleaning chemicals, and food allergens.
Must be able to navigate crowded or fastmoving areas safely.
Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak seasonal shifts as needed.
May require moving between indoor and outdoor dining or event spaces.
Must maintain clean, professional appearance in accordance with uniform guidelines.
