Position Summary:

Cooperstown All Star Village is seeking reliable, energetic, friendly Bartenders. The Bartender is responsible for providing exceptional guest service by preparing and serving a wide range of beverages while maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient bar environment. This role requires strong product knowledge, accurate drink making skills, and the ability to create a welcoming atmosphere for guests. The Bartender ensures all drink orders are prepared to standard recipes, follows responsible alcohol service guidelines, and supports smooth front of house operations by working closely with servers, other bartenders and supervisors.

A successful Bartender demonstrates professionalism, speed, and attention to detail while delivering a consistently positive guest experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Outlet Manager with kitchen leadership and daily food preparation.

  • Supervise kitchen staff and maintain efficient workflow.

  • Ensure all food meets quality, presentation, and safety standards.

  • Assist with menu execution, inventory, and ordering.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant kitchen environment.

Qualifications

  • Previous bartending experience or strong background in food and beverage service.

  • Knowledge of cocktails, beer, wine, and responsible alcohol service practices.

  • Ability to mix, garnish, and serve drinks accurately and efficiently.

  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to create a welcoming guest experience.

  • Excellent communication and multitasking abilities.

  • Proficiency with POS systems and basic cash handling procedures.

  • Ability to follow recipes, portion guidelines, and responsible service laws (e.g., TIPS or similar certification preferred).

  • Strong attention to detail, cleanliness, and organization.

  • Ability to work calmly and efficiently during high volume or fast paced periods.

  • Reliable, professional, and able to work independently or as part of a team.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to stand and walk for long periods (up to 8–10 hours during busy shifts).

  • Frequent lifting, carrying, and moving of items up to 25–40 pounds (cases, kegs, ice, etc.).

  • Ability to bend, reach, and stoop repeatedly throughout a shift.

  • Work environment may include loud noise, dim lighting, and exposure to alcohol, cleaning products, and bar equipment.

  • Must be able to handle and pour beverages quickly and safely.

  • Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and peak season schedules as required.

  • Must be comfortable working in fast paced, sometimes crowded environments.

  • Requires manual dexterity to operate bar tools, taps, and POS equipment.

  • May require working both indoors and outdoors depending on venue or event setup.

  • Must maintain proper food safety and alcohol service hygiene standards at all times.
