Position Summary:
The Building Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and improvement of all buildings, facilities, and physical infrastructure across Cooperstown All Star Village. This includes lodging areas (Hotel Rooms & Bunkhouses) dining areas (Concession Stands, Club House Restaurant, Upper Deck Restaurant & Team Dinning) recreational facilities, offices, and support buildings. The manager ensures that all structures and systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable codes and standards, maintaining a high quality experience for guests, athletes, and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations & Maintenance
Supervise and help with daytoday building maintenance operations, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general repair work.
Conduct routine inspections to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns.
Develop and oversee preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
Staff Management
Lead, train, and manage a team of maintenance technicians.
Coordinate work schedules, assign tasks, and monitor performance.
Promote a safe, respectful, and teamoriented work environment.
Budgeting & Inventory
Prepare and manage the maintenance department budget.
Track supplies, parts, and materials to ensure adequate inventory levels.
Monitor energy usage and implement costefficient solutions.
Compliance & Safety
Ensure all operations comply with local, state, and federal safety regulations.
Maintain documentation for inspections, permits, and maintenance records.
Respond promptly to facility emergencies and ensure corrective actions are taken.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or trade certification preferred.
Minimum 5 years of experience in maintenance supervision, facility management, or a related field (hospitality or sports facility experience a plus).
Strong knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building systems.
Proven leadership and teambuilding skills.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and deliver results under pressure.
Excellent communication, organization, and problem solving abilities.
Working knowledge of OSHA and safety standards.
Working Conditions / Special Physical Requirements:
Fulltime, onsite position.
Requires flexibility during peak season (including evenings/weekends).
Involves indoor and outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
May include on-call duties for emergencies.
