The Toronto Blue Jays Florida Operations team is looking for a Sr. Manager, Mechanical Maintenance and Infrastructure!
 
The Senior Manager, Mechanical Maintenance & Infrastructure is a senior leadership role responsible for the strategic oversight, performance, and long‑term reliability of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems and core infrastructure supporting the Toronto Blue Jays world‑class Player Development Complex and TD Ballpark.
 
This role is critical to maintaining the highest facility standards and provides hands‑on leadership during troubleshooting, repairs, and emergency response, while also serving as a coach, mentor, and technical leader to the skilled trades team. 
The position is accountable for mechanical and infrastructure standards, preventive and predictive maintenance planning, technical training, system performance, and documentation—ensuring facilities operate safely, efficiently, and reliably as high‑performing buildings year‑round.
 
This role partners closely with the Sr Manager, Facilities Maintenance to align priorities, facility readiness, capital planning and day‑to‑day operational needs across both facilities
 
Responsibilities
 Mechanical & Infrastructure Leadership
  • Provide leadership and oversight for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of complex HVAC, electrical, pools/hydrotherapy, generator, and building automation systems.
  • Serve as the primary technical authority and escalation point for mechanical and infrastructure systems.
  • Lead and coordinate the resolution of mechanical and infrastructure emergencies, including after‑hours and on‑call responses, in partnership with internal teams and external service providers.

 Trades Team Leadership
  • Directly supervise, train, and mentor skilled trades employees, setting clear expectations for quality, safety, accountability, and workmanship.
  • Establish and enforce consistent maintenance standards, best practices, and safe work procedures across all mechanical and infrastructure trades.
  • Support succession planning by developing cross‑training capabilities, and technical depth within the team.

 
Preventative Maintenance & Planning 
  • Develop, execute, and continuously improve preventive and predictive maintenance programs for all MEP and infrastructure systems.
  • Plan, schedule, and prioritize maintenance activities to minimize disruption to baseball operations, events, and training schedules.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation within the CMMS, including work orders, asset histories, and lifecycle planning data.
  • Identify recurring issues and develop long‑term corrective strategies to improve system reliability, efficiency, and risk mitigation.

Vendor & Contractor Oversight 
  • Manage and coordinate specialty contractors and service providers supporting mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and infrastructure systems.
  • Review contractor performance for quality, safety, compliance, and adherence to Toronto Blue Jays standards.
  • Support scoping, evaluation, and execution of service contracts, capital projects, and major system repairs.
  • Coordinate vendor access, scope, and scheduling in partnership with the Sr Manager, Facilities Management to ensure alignment with facility operations and readiness

Safety, Compliance & Standards 
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable OSHA, life safety, building codes, environmental regulations, and MLB requirement.
  • Lead mechanical and infrastructure safety practices, including lockout/tagout, confined space work, hazard mitigation, and risk assessments.
  • Support emergency preparedness, hurricane readiness, and critical system resilience planning

Collaboration & Reporting 
  • Partner with the Senior Manager, Facilities Management to align mechanical maintenance priorities with overall facilities strategy and operational needs.
  • Provide clear, proactive communication and reporting on system performance, operational risks, emergencies, and maintenance priorities.
  • Support budget planning, forecasting, and cost control related to mechanical maintenance, repairs, and system upgrades

 Qualifications
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in mechanical maintenance, facilities operations, or skilled trades leadership within complex facilities (stadiums, athletic campuses, institutional, or industrial environments preferred).
  • Demonstrated hands‑on expertise in HVAC, electrical systems, and building infrastructure.
  • Proven experience leading and mentoring skilled trades staff in a working‑manager or supervisory capacity
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and decision‑making skills.
  • Experience with BMS, CMMS platforms, and asset lifecycle management.
  • Working knowledge of safety regulations, building codes, and industry best practices.

 
Physical & Work Requirements 
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and serve as the on‑call lead for after‑hours mechanical emergencies, particularly during Spring Training and major events.
  • Working knowledge of safety regulations, building codes, and industry best practices.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Ability to work at heights, on ladders, in mechanical rooms, and in confined spaces.
  • Frequent walking, standing, bending, and hands‑on tool use
