The Blue Jays are looking for a Senior Manager, Facility Operations!

As a Senior Manager and a crucial member of the Operations Team, you will oversee and drive strategic initiatives that impact our ballpark's "back of house" operations and services. You will provide leadership and guidance in facility operations, encompassing the management of janitorial services, asset management, parking operations, vendor relationships, part-time game day staff, and quality control to ensure a healthy environment.

Your mission is to enhance operational efficiencies, foster innovation, and deliver best-in-class services that create lasting and memorable experiences for our fans, players, and staff at Rogers Centre.

Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Leadership:
  • Lead and direct the Facility Operations team with an unwavering commitment to operational excellence, representing the team in interactions with TBJ leadership and stakeholders.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement and effectively manage change to drive positive outcomes.
  • Coach, mentor, and inspire staff, fostering a culture of service excellence and innovation through new strategies and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with other TBJ leaders to share best practices, maximize operational efficiencies, and enhance the fan experience.

Management:
  • Oversee the entire janitorial maintenance, including but not limited to cleaning, pre- and post-event cleaning of the stadium, daily/regular maintenance, exterior landscaping, waste management, snow removal, and window cleaning.
  • Manage the day-to-day parking administration activities.
  • Identify, develop, and implement improvement processes aimed at increasing operational efficiency.
  • Establish performance expectations (KPIs) and standards to meet or exceed performance metrics.
  • Develop sand establish policies, procedures, performance standards, and operating guidelines.
  • Continuously seek best practices in the market and monitor operational performance against industry benchmarks.
  • Develop, plan, execute, and control actions necessary to achieve assigned objectives.
  • Ensure the implementation and follow-up of the health and safety plan, maintaining compliance with all regulations.
  • Work is performed in a manner that guarantees the safety of staff, players, and fans.

Quality Control:
  • Develop and implement quality assurance and improvement programs for both facility and parking operations, including setting, and measuring success through KPIs and standardizing operating and sanitary procedures.
  • Establish and enforce quality control measures to ensure that janitorial and cleaning services meet or exceed predetermined standards.
  • Lead the execution of long-term preventative maintenance and asset protection plans.

Vendor and Contractor Management:
  • Oversee relationships with service providers and contractors, including those responsible for janitorial services, exterior maintenance, parking, and other third-party services necessary for maintaining building cleanliness.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts and service-level agreements to ensure both quality and cost-effectiveness.
  • Responsible for the bidding and negotiation of all preventive maintenance, repairs, and service contracts.
    • This includes developing, tracking, and managing performance KPIs, providing regular updates to leadership, and driving execution improvements with each vendor.
    • Ensure that property, building, and equipment preventive maintenance programs are effectively managed and executed to comply with policies and applicable industry and regulatory standards for quality, occupancy, health, and safety.

Budget Management:
  • Develop detailed capital and expense budgets for Facilities and Parking Operations, along with execution plans, including 5-year plans, annual plans, and monthly reports.
  • Provide revenue projections for our parking operations.
  • Regularly update leadership on budget justifications and provide monthly and quarterly reports.
  • Monitor expenses continuously and identify opportunities for cost savings.

Sustainability:
  • Promote and enforce environmentally friendly practices within the ballpark, such as waste disposal, energy conservation, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent in work experience.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of related experience.
  • Sports / Hospitality / Entertainment industry experience is required.
  • Multi-faceted strategic leader with exceptional business acumen and the ability to lead multiple teams.
  • Ability to multitask and oversee concurrent projects.
  • Proficient computer skills in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills required.
  • Legally able to work in Canada.
  • Required and willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
