Mascot Performer – Toronto Blue Jays Spring Training & Dunedin Blue Jays
Location: TD Ballpark – Dunedin, FL
Position Type: 9 Month Contract Role through September 30th, 2026
The Toronto Blue Jays are seeking a high-energy, enthusiastic performer to represent the Toronto Blue Jays and Dunedin Blue Jays as their beloved mascots, Ace (Toronto) and Djay (Dunedin) at TD Ballpark for the 2026 Spring Training season and Florida State League season.
This highly energetic, fan-facing role is responsible for bringing excitement, personality, and memorable moments to TD Ballpark during all 15 home Spring Training games and assigned Dunedin Blue Jays home games through mascot performances, in-game promotions, fan interactions, and community appearances. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic, reliable, physically capable, and passionate about entertaining fans of all ages while representing the organization with professionalism and positivity.
Responsibilities:
- Perform as the official team mascot at all Toronto Blue Jays Spring Training and Dunedin Blue Jays home games.
- Attend all game day meetings and coordinate with the Game Entertainment team on performance elements.
- Participate in in-game promotions, on-field activations, and the seventh-inning stretch.
- Interact with fans before, during and after games, including taking photos and creating engaging moments throughout the ballpark while delivering exceptional customer service and positive fan interactions.
- Mascots will attend various events both on and off-site, to promote the Toronto and Dunedin Blue Jays and create a fun and dynamic experience at all their appearances.
- Ability to perform a variety of Game Entertainment roles such as camera operator, pitch clock operator, mascot handler, in-game host, and other gameday support functions.
- Ensure proper care, maintenance, and storage of mascot costumes.
- Uphold brand standards and always maintain character integrity.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Candidate would ideally be between 5’10 – 6’2 to be able to comfortably perform in the costume.
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Previous experience in mascot performance, promotions, fan engagement, performing arts dance, athletics, or interactive entertainment preferred.
- Comfortable performing in large crowds and interacting with fans of all ages.
- High-energy personality with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Must be available for all Toronto Blue Jays Spring Training and Dunedin Blue Jays home games, as well as other community events.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Successful candidate can hold other jobs, but they cannot conflict with the requirements of Blue Jays Baseball Club or scheduled appearances.
- Valid driver’s license required.
Physical Requirements
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Ability to stand and perform for the full length of a shift.
• Ability to work in variable weather conditions and temperatures.
• Ability to walk throughout the stadium and perform physically demanding mascot activities.
