The Old North State League (ONSL) is one of the fastest-growing collegiate summer baseball leagues in the country, dedicated to player development and providing a high-quality baseball experience. As technology continues to shape the game, ONSL is integrating cutting-edge tools to enhance player performance and visibility for collegiate athletes.

Position Overview
The Baseball Analytics Intern will oversee the implementation and management of DataMound, the league’s premier player development and analytics platform. This role will be instrumental in tracking and analyzing performance data across the league using ArmCare, pitchLogic, and Blast Motion—three state-of-the-art technologies designed to optimize player training, injury prevention, and scouting insights.

This internship is ideal for sports management, data analytics, or exercise science students looking to gain hands-on experience with performance technology in a high-level baseball environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Technology Integration: Manage and maintain player development technology, ensuring ArmCare, pitchLogic, and Blast Motion devices are properly set up and functional at team sites.
Data Collection & Analysis: Assist in gathering and interpreting data from these tools to provide meaningful insights to players and coaches.
Player & Coach Support: Educate players and coaching staff on how to use these technologies effectively to improve performance.
Performance Reporting: Compile reports using metrics collected from DataMound to track player development throughout the season
Scouting & Recruiting Assistance: Work with ONSL staff to provide verified data that can be shared with college coaches and scouts.

Key Technologies:

ArmCare – A tool designed to assess arm health and prevent injuries by monitoring fatigue, strength imbalances, and workload.
- Why It’s Important: Helps pitchers and position players maintain arm strength while reducing the risk of overuse injuries.
pitchLogic – A smart baseball that provides real-time analytics on pitch velocity, spin rate, movement, and release mechanics.
- Why It’s Important: Gives pitchers detailed feedback to refine mechanics and improve effectiveness on the mound.
Blast Motion – A bat sensor that measures swing metrics, including bat speed, attack angle, and time to contact.
- Why It’s Important: Helps hitters optimize their swing mechanics for better bat control and power at the plate.

Qualifications:

Current college student or recent graduate in Sports Management, Kinesiology, Data Science, or a related field
Knowledge of baseball analytics and player development
Experience using performance tracking technology (preferred but not required)
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends during the season
