About the Springfield Cardinals:
The Springfield Cardinals, Double-A affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals, deliver top-notch baseball and community engagement at Hammons Field. As a vital part of the Cardinals’ player pipeline, they bring fans closer to the future of the game. The Springfield Cardinals are a proud member club of Diamond Baseball Holdings (DBH). DBH formed in 2021 to support, promote, and enhance Minor League Baseball through best practices, professional management, innovation, and investment.
Position Overview:
The Springfield Cardinals are seeking a responsible, highly motivated, and creative individual to assist in coordinating all aspects of marketing for: game day events, off-season Hammons Field events, and any other promotional needs throughout the calendar year. This individual must possess a critical eye for digital aesthetics, will be tasked with organizing and meeting aggressive content deadlines, while juggling multiple digital projects at once. To ensure success, this individual should be highly organized, excel in time-management, and must be physically available to assist with any game-day events and Hammons Field in-stadium events, as needed. This position reports directly to the Marketing Director.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Marketing Calendar:
- Assist in creating and maintaining a rolling quarterly marketing calendar.
- Organize and communicate the schedule for the upcoming three months during weekly content meetings.
- Collaborate on the creation and execution of a comprehensive social media strategy.
- Public Relations Support:
- Assist with offseason PR efforts, including press releases and community involvement initiatives.
- Assist in identifying area community events that would be beneficial for the team to be involved with while helping execute and promote that involvement.
- Provide support during talhe season for ongoing PR activities.
- Collaboration:
- Gain knowledge on DBH and MiLB marketing calls and collaborate with team to execute initiatives.
- Work with all departments to continually improve Hammons Field and enhance fan experiences.
- Work with external marketing partners (Fan Compass, Digital Ignite, Digideck, Eloqua, etc.)
- Represent the Springfield Cardinals professionally and maintain consistent communication with the staff regarding the marketing plan.
- Adhere to department budget constraints.
- Game Day Responsibilities:
- Assist with coordinating in-game marketing activities.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Previous digital marketing experience with a demonstrated track record of performance in areas including ticket and sports promotion is preferred.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Adobe Creative Suite, and Meta Business Suite is preferred.
- Evidence of planning acumen and of being a strategic thinker with the ability to follow processes and plans.
- Excellent organizational and project management abilities.
- Communicating clearly and effectively while possessing advanced collaboration and people skills.
- The ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Loyalty to the brand, fellow co-workers, and the overall organization.
- General understanding of the Springfield market and surrounding areas.
- Willing to work non-traditional hours (nights, weekends, holidays).
- Expects highest quality performance from self and others.
