Position Overview:
The Midland RockHounds, the Double-A affiliate of the Athletics, are seeking a dynamic and creative Video Production & Creative Media Intern to bring the energy of Minor League Baseball to life through compelling video content. This role is perfect for a visual storyteller who is passionate about sports, entertainment, and digital media. The ideal candidate will lead the creation of both short-form and long-form videos that showcase players, coaches, fans, promotions, and the RockHounds brand across various platforms.
Responsibilities:
Video Production & Editing: Lead the production of a wide variety of video content, including:
- Long-form features highlighting players, coaches, behind-the-scenes stories, and special events.
- Short-form content designed for TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and other vertical platforms.
- Promotional videos spotlighting merchandise, food and beverage offerings, ticket packages, and giveaways.
- Fan-focused content capturing the spirit of the game day experience at Momentum Bank Ballpark.
- Capture and edit footage from community appearances, sales, tickets, concessions, special theme nights, and team events to support outreach and engagement efforts.
In-Stadium Content & Game Day Execution:
- Film and edit real-time content during home games, including walk-up shots, crowd moments, player celebrations, and fan interactions.
- Operate cameras and assist with the video board content during games, ensuring dynamic in-game entertainment.
- Coordinate and execute player intro videos, hype content, sponsor segments, and mid-inning crowd prompts.
- Deliver same-day and next-day edits for highlight reels, recap videos, and social media content.
- Other Miscellaneous tasks assigned by supervisor.
Social Media & Digital Strategy Integration:
- Collaborate with the social media and marketing teams to create scroll-stopping content that drives engagement across Instagram, X (Twitter), Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube.
- Develop visual campaigns that align with brand strategy and seasonal promotions.
- Assist in the planning and execution of Media Day, capturing photo and video content to be used throughout the season.
- Contribute ideas for new content series, recurring themes, and viral concepts tied to players, games, or events.
Branding & Creative Collaboration:
- Work with corporate partnerships to produce branded video content and sponsor commercials for in-stadium use and digital placement.
- Help maintain consistency in the RockHounds’ brand identity across all video and visual media.
- Support promotional campaigns with eye-catching, professional video assets that tell a story and drive ticket sales and community interest.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in video production, communications, or related field. Comparable professional or academic experience in video production and editing will also be considered, and students currently working toward a degree in a relevant field are encouraged to apply. Proven experience with DSLR/mirrorless cameras, audio, lighting, and all aspects of video production. Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, and/or other editing tools. Strong knowledge of best practices for video content across social media platforms. Creative thinker with strong visual storytelling ability. Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple projects and meet deadlines. Willingness to work non-traditional hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays during the baseball season.
