The Frisco RoughRiders (Double-A, Texas Rangers) are accepting applications for a Broadcasting & Media Relations Assistant.
 
 About the position:
 
The Frisco RoughRiders are the Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers and are located in Frisco, Texas (about 25 miles north of downtown Dallas) within the largest media market in Minor League Baseball. As a broadcast and media relations assistant, the candidate will report to Zach Bigley (Manager of media development/broadcaster) and be an integral part of the RoughRiders marketing team. The best candidate will have a passion for creating an excellent product on and off the air, a drive to succeed and a comfortability with working in a fast-paced, team-based environment.
 
Communications duties:
·         Assist with the media relations responsibilities of the club, including facilitating interviews and working with the media, writing and updating the team’s media guide, blog and website, etc.

·         Compile daily stat packs for media and team personnel

·         Assist with writing, video and graphic design tasks for team publications, website, social media, etc.

·         Cutting and logging highlights/footage

·         Write game recap stories and press releases

·         Other media relations and marketing responsibilities as needed

Broadcasting duties:
·         Play-by-play and commentary for home games and select road games as No. 2 broadcaster

·         Host radio pregame and postgame shows for home games and select road games

·          Conduct interviews for the pregame show, video content, written content, etc.

·         Record and edit video stand-ups for social media content

Marketing:
·         Standup and editing of Homestand Preview Videos

·         Series Preview Press Releases

·         Series Preview on Blog

·         Writing stories, updating bios for Weekly Game Program

Qualifications:
·         At least one season of media relations/communications/broadcasting experience in affiliated professional baseball preferred

·         Strong writing skills

·         Experience working or proficiency in MiLB’s Forge, Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Audition and Premiere preferred

·         Experience with graphic design, video editing and social media

·          Love and understanding of baseball

·          Positive attitude and willingness to learn
