JOB SUMMARY:  The Texas Rangers are seeking a Senior Software Developer working remotely or based in Arlington, TX.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

  • Design, develop, deploy, & maintain custom, web-based applications for baseball operations
  • Guide projects through all parts of the software development life-cycle (SDLC)
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to a small team, ensuring alignment with project goals
  • Maintain and iterate on current suite of applications
  • Identify & implement internal process improvements with automation & optimization
  • Work closely with data analysts and other developers to assist them in building optimal, scalable solutions
  • Communicate with stakeholders and executives regarding application-related technical issues as well as development of new products
  • Autonomously lead projects from ideation through development
  • All other duties as assigned

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 7+ years of industry relevant experience
  • B.S. Degree or higher in engineering, computer science, web design, a related technical field, or have equivalent work experience
  • Experience delivering full stack software solutions using .NET or another object-oriented language
  • Website development experience (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
  • Experience with CI/CD best practices
  • Extensive experience with SQL (SQL Server, Postgres, or similar)
  • Experience in cloud computing, storage, and warehousing (AWS, Databricks, Snowflake, etc.)
  • Experience with developer tools & processes (source control, code reviews, requirement management, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of and desire to work with baseball data & analysis
  • Strong written, verbal, and visualization skills
  • Ability to come up with new ideas and innovate based on a variety of baseball datasets
  • A creative mindset, open-mindedness, and desire to work in a learning culture
