JOB SUMMARY: The Mental Performance Coach will aid in the creation, facilitation, education, and skill development efforts of organizational Mental Performance. The primary function of this role will serve the Arizona complex, Dominican Republic complex, and Medical Rehab groups.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

  • Support and ensure consistency in our organizational philosophy and curriculum around mental skill development for players and coaches.

  • Provide educational development sessions for players and staff.

  • Experienced with ability to identify clinical issues that may arise and refer any players and staff to appropriate resources.

  • Support coaches and staff through one-on-one mental skill development sessions as needed/requested.

  • Continue to research new developments in the areas of mental performance training.

  • Maintain consistent collaboration and communication with mental performance team members.

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary staff (e.g., Player Development, Medical Operations, Performance, and Front Office.)

  • All other duties as assigned.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree, and PhD in performance psychology or mental performance.

  • Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) through the Association of Applied Sport Psychology or ability to obtain CMPC within one year of hire.

  • College or professional playing experience.

  • Experience in professional sport and/or collegiate athletic mental performance coaching.

  • Ability to develop an organized and systematic curriculum of orientation and development.

  • Bilingual English/Spanish speaker.

  • Technical administrative skills.

  • Experienced and skilled in presenting to large groups.

  • Extremely organized and detailed oriented.

  • Exceptional communication skills.
