JOB SUMMARY: The Texas Rangers are seeking Minor League Athletic Trainer Interns to work at one of five of our affiliates this year. This position will work at the Round Rock Express, Frisco RoughRiders, Hub City Spartanburgers, Hickory Crawdads, or Arizona Complex as an Athletic Training Intern with daily responsibilities such as assisting with daily treatments and coverage and helping with rehab progressions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
- Work with the Medical Staff to continue developing and implementing injury prevention programs.
- Assit in providing immediate emergency and non-emergency care for injuries that occur during practices and games.
- Assist in creating and administering rehabilitation programs for injured players.
- Collaborate with S&C coaches, Dieticians, coaching staff and physicians to ensure comprehensive care.
- Set up and maintain the athletic training room, ensuring it is stocked with necessary supplies and equipment.
- Help maintain accurate records of player injuries, treatments, and rehabilitation progress
- Help educate players on injury prevention, treatment options, and recovery protocols.
- Assist in daily game and practice coverage
- Prepare necessary equipment and medical supplies for travel.
- Other duties as assigned.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification required.
- Prior baseball experience preferred.
- Strong leadership and collaboration skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
- Willing to work long and flexible hours.
- Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time.
- Ability to bend and stoop frequently.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in inclement weather.
- Ability to work on uneven ground.
