JOB SUMMARY: The Texas Rangers are seeking a Minor League Athletic Trainer to work in the Dominican Republic for the 2026 championship season. This position will work at the Texas Rangers Dominican Complex as an Athletic Trainer with daily responsibilities such as daily treatments, ordering supplies, rehab progressions, and game coverage.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
- Work with the DR Medical Staff, Asst Medical Coordinator and Director to continue developing and implementing injury prevention programs.
- Provide immediate emergency and non-emergency care for injuries that occur during practices and games.
- Create and administer rehabilitation programs for injured players.
- Collaborate with S&C coaches, Dieticians, coaching staff and physicians to ensure comprehensive care.
- Set up and maintain the athletic training room, ensuring it is stocked with necessary supplies and equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of player injuries, treatments, and rehabilitation progress in MLB electronic medical records system.
- Communicate with coaching staff, medical staff and front office to provide updates on player health and injury status.
- Educate players on injury prevention, treatment options, and recovery protocols.
- Daily game and practice coverage
- Prepare necessary equipment and medical supplies for travel.
- Other duties as assigned.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to bend and stoop frequently
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work in inclement weather
- Ability to work on uneven ground
- Ability to travel to Surprise, Arizona to work Spring Training.
- Ability to travel to the Dominican Republic to work the full championship season.
- Current BOC Certification required.
- Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification required.
- Prior baseball experience preferred.
- Strong leadership and collaboration skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Willing to work long and flexible hours.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
