JOB SUMMARY: The Legal Intern will support the Legal Department through a structured internship experience. Under the direct supervision of legal team members, the intern will gain valuable exposure to the day-to-day operations of an in-house legal department within a professional sports organization. The position is designed to provide meaningful legal and professional development while ensuring compliance with academic requirements and ethical standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

  • Perform legal tasks and projects as assigned by the Field Supervisor or other attorneys, aligned with the learning objectives of the field placement.

  • Conduct legal research and analysis on a variety of issues impacting the organization.

  • Draft and review legal documents including contracts, agreements, memoranda, and correspondence.

  • Assist with tracking and managing legal claims, trademarks, and other intellectual property matters.

  • Support the legal team with compliance-related projects and internal policy reviews.

  • Help monitor legal developments in relevant areas such as labor law, ADA compliance, and league regulations.

  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by attorneys in the Legal Department.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current enrollment or graduated from in an accredited law school.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion.

  • Demonstrated interest in sports law, corporate law, employment law, intellectual property, or other relevant legal areas.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative legal team.
