JOB SUMMARY: The role involves enhancing communication between coaches and Dominican Summer League players at the Dominican Republic Academy in Boca Chica, DR. The position requires facilitating communication in various settings, including both on and off-field environments. Additionally, the job involves collaboration with the International Scouting and Development department and players to contribute to the overall success of the team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

  • This role will be focused on enhancing communication between coaches and our DSL players.
  • Provide interpretation services between English and Spanish in various environments, such as classrooms, games, bullpens, and other on and off field settings at our Dominican Republic Academy in Boca Chica, DR.
  • Assist with communication between individuals who do not speak the same language, ensuring accurate and practical understanding. This includes communication from player to staff and staff to player.
  • Serve as an integral part of the International Scouting and Development department and collaborate with coaches, players, performance staff, and strength and conditioning staff to drive on-field outcomes for DSL players.
  • Assist in the management of the data and collection process and assist with interpretation with coaches and players.
  • All other duties as assigned.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Fluent in Spanish and English.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in Spanish and English.
  • Significant understanding or working knowledge of baseball.
  • Ability to work in outdoor/baseball stadium environment. 
  • A creative mindset, open-mindedness, and desire to work in a learning culture.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including, but not limited to nights and weekends.
