JOB SUMMARY: The Texas Rangers are looking for a Marketing & Advertising Director to assist in leading the marketing department in our mission to take the Rangers’ brand to the next level.  This role will lead strategic initiatives that include brand strategy, media planning, media buying, digital communications and process workflows. This department leader will also oversee a team of project managers responsible for flawless execution of programs supporting stakeholders throughout the organization.
The Marketing and Advertising Director must be someone with experience leading and collaborating with cross functional teams.  They will bring a proactive and strategic approach to the position, and have a proven track record of managing successful cross channel programs from inception through execution.  This person must have strong management and organizational skills.  They must also be a good communicator and an excellent multi-tasker.  
  • Leading, training and mentoring a team of marketing coordinators and project managers dedicated to executing marketing initiatives across the organization.
  • Working directly with the VP, Marketing, Creative Director and a dedicated project manager to deliver thought leadership and flawless execution of the branding of Globe Life Field.  
  • Effectively communicating and collaborating with internal stakeholders including: Ticket Sales, Ballpark Operations, Corporate Partnerships, Community Relations, Broadcast, In-Game Entertainment and Non-Baseball Events and Promotions.
  • Continuous evaluation and improvement of our project workflow, process and tools.
  • Proactive thinker who is always looking for ways to evolve and elevate the brand. 
  • Overseeing and executing all media planning, buying and trafficking for TV, radio, out-of-home, print, digital and Spanish media advertising.
  • Managing advertising budgets consisting of cash, ticket trade and rights holder media assets.
  • Constructing the schedule for live reads and commercial content for in-game broadcast TV and radio.
  • Creating and maintaining a quarterly creative content calendar.
  • Working in partnership with the Social Media team to design paid social media campaigns to promote the brand and increase ticket sales.
  • Collaborating with Business Analytics to conduct a semi-annual brand health study and evaluate the effectiveness of marketing campaigns across various metrics. 
  • Playing a critical role in working with the Ticket Sales team to develop and communicate offers designed to maximize ticket sales initiatives.
  • Function as the liaison between the club and Major League Baseball for marketing assets including the MLB Ballpark App, texasrangers.com and club emails.
  • Possessing the flexibility and versatility to think at the 30K foot level while also getting into the detailed execution of the work.
  • Maintaining and fostering a proactive and collaborative culture within the marketing team.  
  • Working closely with other departments to ensure that deliverables are being met with the highest quality.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Marketing, Communications, Business or Public Relations.
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in marketing or advertising roles.  
  • Minimum 3 years of Management experience.
  • Media planning and buying experience. 
  • Sports marketing experience is a plus.  
  • Strong management and leadership skills to guide employees in department. 
  • Strong analytical skills to comprehend customer segmentation and market research.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work within tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays when the game schedule and workload requires.
  • Strong planning, organizational and prioritization skills.
