JOB SUMMARY: The Assistant, Traffic Management & Video Services supports the Texas Rangers and Rangers Sports Network by assisting in traffic coordination, spot delivery, and reconciliation for the Texas Rangers Radio Network, including both English and Spanish broadcasts. This role helps manage logistics and operations for pre- and post-game simulcasts, live game broadcasts, and special event productions across television, radio, and Spanish radio platforms. Additionally, the position assists in logging, tagging, and managing video content, as well as maintaining and organizing the team’s broadcast archive system.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

  • Assist in traffic oversight and spot delivery for TV and English & Spanish radio.

  • Assist in log buildout and reconciliation with sponsors and deliverables.

  • Work to maximize opportunities for advertising sales.

  • Work with the Coordinator to produce the spring and regular season radio broadcasts including sponsor elements, Network timings, and format management. 

  • Assist in troubleshooting broadcast issues as needed for Ranger’s home & road tv, radio & Spanish radio broadcasts.

  • Support the Coordinator in working with Engineers for spring, webcast home & road regular season radio broadcasts and any possible postseason.

  • Work with MLB and mlb.com to communicate all broadcast coverage changes and assist in managing all spring webcasts and broadcasts and all regular season broadcasts.

  • Minor editing of content and features for broadcast and digital services.

  • Digitizing archival content for future use and tracking.

  • Logging and adding metadata for content management.

  • Assist editors in locating & accessing archival content.

  • Assistance with miscellaneous projects and events.

  • Assistance in other areas of the Broadcasting department as needed.

  • Other duties as assigned.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • College degree required.

  • Minimum of one year experience in related broadcasting field.

  • Experience in television and radio operations preferred.

  • Self-starter, multi-task oriented with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to delegate responsibility to others.

  • Excellent written and public speaking skills, interpersonal skills, and decision-making skills.

  • Must be available to work nights and weekends as game and event duties require.
