Broadcasting & Public Address Announcer Internship (Summer)
Acadiana Cane Cutters – Lafayette, LA
The Acadiana Cane Cutters are a summer collegiate baseball organization competing in the Texas Collegiate League and have been part of the league for over 14 years. The organization is dedicated to preparing college students and recent graduates for careers in sports by providing hands-on, real-world experience in a live professional environment.
We are currently seeking two (2) Broadcasting & Public Address Announcer Interns for the 2026 summer season. This role is a high-visibility position that supports live game broadcasts on TCL TV and in-stadium public address operations. Interns will gain practical experience in sports broadcasting, live production, and audience engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Assisting with pre-game setup and post-game breakdown of broadcast equipment
• Supporting live broadcasts aired on TCL TV
• Providing real-time score updates and in-game content on social media
• Engaging both in-stadium fans and television viewers with live announcements and commentary
• Preparing broadcast notes and materials prior to arrival at the stadium
• Playing commercials and other scheduled content during broadcasts
• Supporting additional broadcast and game-day duties as assigned, including assisting other interns with park setup and takedown
Qualifications
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of baseball and interest in sports broadcasting
• Play-by-play commentary experience preferred
• Video production or live production experience preferred
• Public Address announcing experience preferred
• Ability to perform in a fast-paced, live-event environment
• Positive attitude and professional demeanor
• Self-motivated, dependable, and trustworthy
• Ability to collaborate effectively with production and operations staff
• Willingness and availability to work all 24 Cane Cutters home games during the 2026 season, with up to three (3) playoff games if applicable
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends
