The Rocket City Trash Pandas, the Double-A Minor League Baseball affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels, are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Social Media Seasonal Associate to join the Marketing Department at Toyota Field. This is a full-time, seasonal, hourly position that offers significant hands-on experience in the sports and entertainment industry.
Position Overview
This role is ideal for an individual with a passion for digital media, creative storytelling, and community engagement. Reporting directly to the Social Media Manager, the Seasonal Associate Intern will play a crucial role in shaping the online presence of the Trash Pandas brand. *The position requires working all home games and maintaining a regular office schedule on non-game days to assist with content planning and creation for upcoming events and games.*
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist in planning, creating, and scheduling dynamic content for all team social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, X, Facebook, and Threads).
- Capture high-quality photo and video content in and around Toyota Field, focusing on fan experience, game action, promotions, and player interactions.
- Clip, edit, and post relevant game highlights and updates in real-time during home games.
- Produce and edit compelling short-form video content (e.g., Reels, TikToks) optimized for various platforms.
- Monitor social media trends, memes, and pop culture moments to generate relevant and engaging content ideas.
- Manage daily community engagement, including responding to comments, messages, and mentions promptly and professionally.
- Organize and maintain the content calendar and digital asset library.
- Assist with content collection during team events, games, and community appearances.
- Track basic social media analytics (reach, engagement, followers, impressions) and provide performance insights.
- Collaborate with the Marketing and Creative teams on brainstorming new campaign ideas and social strategies.
- Edit graphics as part of in-game and post-game social media coverage.
- Non-departmental responsibilities may include assisting the full staff with covering and uncovering the field in response to inclement weather conditions (tarp pulls) and other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field. Recent grads preferred.
- Strong understanding of major social media platforms, current trends, and best practices.
- Excellent written communication and editing skills; ability to maintain a consistent brand voice.
- Demonstrated creative eye for visual storytelling, photography, and video content.
- Proficiency in content editing software (e.g., CapCut, Canva, or Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus.
- Experience posting on brand or team social media channels (academic or professional setting).
- Familiarity with baseball terminology and game flow is preferred.
- Proven ability to take initiative, prioritize tasks, and thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Ability and willingness to work irregular hours, including all home games, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Reliable, organized, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
