Merchandising and Card Shop Intern
Status: Full Time, Seasonal
Job Description:
The Knoxville Smokies have an opening for a Merchandising Intern. This position will report directly to the Merchandise Manager. You will have the opportunity to play a key role in the second season of Covenant Health Park in Downtown Knoxville.
Duties are listed below but will not be limited to the following:
- Assist with selecting items for sale in the GoTeez Locker Room.
- Develop and implement marketing plans to actively sell Knoxville Smokies official merchandise.
- Assist the Merchandise Manager in day-to-day tasks such as adding new items to the online store, fulfilling orders, stocking items, keeping inventory, receiving goods, and other projects as needed inside the GoTeez Locker Room, Collectors Corner, and the West Town Mall location.
- Work game days and outside events at Covenant Health Park and offsite.
- Oversee and manage the GoTeez Locker Room and game day staff during baseball games.
- Other duties as needed.
Position pays a stipend per month. Some extended work hours and weekend hours are necessary.
Experience Required:
- Be customer service focused.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong computer skills with knowledge of social media and email marketing.
- Experience in retail, trading cards, Photoshop, and website design is a plus.
- Self-starter with a positive attitude and the ability to handle multiple tasks.
- Must possess an eagerness to learn with an exceptional work ethic.
- Minimum of a college degree or currently working on a college degree is preferred but not required.
