The Birmingham Barons are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our Ticket Sales team. The ticket sales intern will be given hands-on experience working with a wide variety of Barons fans with the goal of selling mini-plans and group outings to drive revenue growth for the team. This position will work closely with the entire ticket sales team, providing significant learning opportunities on the job both from their peers as well as management. This person has the chance to learn during the internship and grow within the organization, both locally and with Diamond Baseball Holdings, currently the largest owner of Minor League Baseball teams.

Duties/Responsibilities:

● Responsible for sales of Barons ticket inventory, including season memberships, mini-plans, and group outings.

● Help manage the logistics of gameday experiences including proper set up in group areas, communicate timing of pregame experiences, and confirm details with group leaders.

● Distribute promotional items designed to help increase fan spirit and attendance at games

● Occasional mascot/player appearances, participation in promotions including on-field activities and enter/exit gate sampling, and distribution of marketing material

● Communicate with a variety of potential clients, including baseball fans, businesses, and community organizations.

● Provide consistently excellent customer service to all existing and potential clients.

● Assisting with special group events such as scout nights, school and kids' days, church nights, youth baseball clinics, Field of Dreams, birthday and team parties, etc.

● Exude maximum effort every day and make a minimum of 100 activities a day through phone calls, emails, and texts.

● Identify opportunities to provide extra experiences and memories for your clients through information gathering and needs assessments.

● Professionally represent the organization at business and community functions.

● Assist the team with other duties as assigned, including tarp.

Qualifications:

● Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment while meeting deadlines and balancing multiple tasks

● Ability to communicate effectively over the phone, in person, and digitally.

● Exceptional organizational habits and ability to manage multiple projects.

● Proficient in Microsoft Office- PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.

● The ability to thrive in a competitive, fun, fast-paced environment.

● Ability to work long hours, weekends, and occasional holidays.

● Some heavy lifting is required

● Must complete a successful comprehensive background check.

● Flexible schedule: available January/February - September; able to work nights and weekends on non-game days as needed.

● Previous sports and ticketing experience a plus but not required.

● Bilingual is a plus but not required

General Physical Requirements: 

● Ability to lift 25 lbs up to 50 lbs

● Ability to stand for up to 5+ hours during a game 

● Ability to work long hours, weekends & holidays 

● Ability to work in adverse weather conditions, including but not limited to rain and heat
