2020 Intern Team:
The purpose of the Lexington Legends internship program is to provide an extensive hands-on career development program that assists young adults with the selection of appropriate careers. We provide work positions that are meaningful and compatible with their education and aspirations. We also offer guidance in the job search process by utilizing our network of peers in the industry to assist qualified individuals in seeking out available positions at the completion of their internship. This internship is a fast paced, hands on, multi dimensional role. Students will work all aspects of our business. If you have a strong desire to work in the sports industry then this is a great place to start.

Many former interns have gone on to secure positions in the sports industry. Legend internship alumni have worked for such organizations as the Cincinnati Reds, Philadelphia Phillies, Saint Louis Cardinals, New York Yankees, Tennessee Titans, Augusta Green Jackets, Louisville Bats and many University athletic departments. Students can register for class credit.
Below is a listing of some of the internships for the 2020 baseball season:
Start Date: March/April
Duties: Assist with all aspects of facility operations of Whitaker Bank Ballpark, primarily with Legends baseball games but also with supervising outside events such as concerts, job fairs, and private parties, etc. Assist with management of game day event staff such as parking attendants, ticket takers, ushers, security, first aid. Assist with promotions, and overall venue management.
Qualifications: Should have a strong interest in gaining experience in the sports industry, be highly motivated, a self-starter, and hard working. Must be able to multi-task and work well with others.

Start Date: March/April
Duties: Assist in the daily operation of all retail sales. Manage all online sales thru MiLB website. Schedule/supervise and lead sales team in every avenue to get our product to sell.
Qualifications:  Must be outgoing, courteous with excellent communications skills. Must be very customer service focused.  Need to have good accounting skills and be able to handle inventory numbers and deposits.  This candidate needs to have strong leadership skills.

Start Date: March/April
Duties: Shadow and learn with Community Relations & Promotions department to schedule and coordinate mascot, player and coach appearances. Assist staff with all non-profit partnership/events. Plan and coordinate all street tour/outside promotion team appearances. Assist with the Kids club program including sales, writing of promotional material. Help with the overall branding & marketing of our product.
Qualifications: Strong computer skills. Project a positive and professional image. Well organized, and creative, excellent follow-through and attention to detail. Ideal candidate must have strong written and verbal communication skills.  Must be able to multi-task and meet deadlines.
