The Charleston RiverDogs of the Low-A East League are looking for a highly motivated, organized, and hard-working individual to fill the position of Stadium Operations Intern for the 2022 season. The Stadium Operations Intern will be responsible for assisting the Operations Manager with the cleanliness and upkeep of Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Ballpark, while also playing a vital role in the management of game-day staff and the execution of events. This is a seasonal position to begin in March and last through September.

Duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Working closely with the Operations Manager in the planning and execution of the short-term and long-term goals of the Charleston RiverDogs  
  • Executing cleanliness and upkeep of the ballpark, both personally and by delegating responsibility to other interns, gameday staff, and/or vendors
  • Executing proper event set-up, including entry gate lines, floor plans, vendor tables, etc. 
  • Supervising and executing Parking Operations for events- staffing, signage, data collection, etc.
  • Maintaining relationships with gameday staff
  • Assisting in the recruiting, hiring, training, and scheduling of gameday staff
  • Facilitating event briefings and act as liaison between Operations Manager and gameday staff
  • Anticipating logistical concerns during event planning
  • Assisting on the playing field as needed
  • Performing additional duties as needed

  • Previous experience in facility or event management preferred, but not required
  • Previous experience supervising staff preferred, but not required
  • Working knowledge of light tools preferred, but not required
  • Working knowledge of pressure washing processes and equipment preferred, but not required
  • General knowledge of Small Engine Repair preferred, but not required
  • Knowledge or enthusiasm to learn ballpark operating systems- HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.

  • Willingness and ability to work long hours. This includes early mornings, late nights, weekends, and/or holidays throughout the duration of the baseball season
  • Ability to operate successfully in a fast-paced professional sports environment
  • Ability to interact professionally with Front Office staff, players, and coaches
  • Ability to arrange personal housing and transportation at own expense
  • Ability to lift over 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for long periods of time in adverse weather, including rain and heat
