Director of Food and Beverage
 Position Overview:
Vette City Catering, the food service partner of the Bowling Green Hot Rods, is seeking to fill the role of Director of Food and Beverage. The Director oversees all food and beverage activities at the Bowling Green Ballpark which range from banquet services for special events to baseball game day and concert concessions. The restaurant style club level hosts groups up to 250 while the stadium seats over 4,000 and can hold over 12,000 for events on the field. 

The ballpark is home to the Bowling Green Hot Rods, the High-A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays. In addition to 66 home games each season, the venue typically hosts several dozen college and high school games, as well as over 100 non-baseball events, meetings, and banquets annually.

 Responsibilities:
  • Lead, recruit, and train a diverse team of over 100, including professional chefs, concession managers, and seasonal staff.
  • Build and maintain a network of non-profit organizations for volunteer staffing.
  • Enforce HR policies and ensure compliance with state and federal employment laws.
  • Manage purchasing, receiving, and inventory control processes.
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations, alcohol laws, and licensing requirements.
  • Create and maintain menus and pricing for both banquet and concession operations.
  • Lead marketing initiatives for banquet services and non-baseball catering opportunities.
  • Deliver high-quality food and service, including an upscale experience for banquet events.
  • Collaborate closely with the Bowling Green Hot Rods staff to provide a seamless guest experience.
  • Monitor financial performance in line with established P&L goals; develop revenue projections, cost controls, staffing plans, and margin targets.

  • Collegial approach with the ability to foster a culture of service and quality; entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Willingness to work long hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the food and beverage industry; experience in both restaurant and stadium concession operations preferred.
  • Familiarity with financial reporting and P&L accountability is a plus.
