About the Role
The Asheville Tourists are seeking an engaging, energetic, and fan-focused On-Field Host/MC to serve as the in-game personality. This role will report to the Director of Promotions and is responsible for driving fan engagement, leading on-field promotions, and delivering an exciting, family-friendly game-day experience that aligns with the Tourists brand.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the on-field host during ALL 66 home games
- Facilitate all on-field and in-stand promotions, games, contests, and sponsor activations.
- Interact confidently with fans of all ages, contestants, and promotional partners throughout the ballpark.
- Execute pre-game, in-game, and post-game announcements in coordination with the Director of Promotions and the Promotions team.
- Follow production scripts while remaining adaptable to live-event dynamics.
- Maintain a professional image and represent the Tourists positively at all times.
- Work alongside the video board operator and camera crew to support in-game production in the newly renovated ballpark
Qualifications
- Prior experience in hosting, emceeing, theater, broadcasting, live entertainment, or crowd engagement strongly preferred.
- Outstanding verbal communication skills with a clear, confident stage presence.
- Ability to think quickly, improvise, and manage live situations calmly.
- Comfortable communicating on a microphone in front of large crowds.
- Team-oriented, dependable, and receptive to direction from production staff.
- Must be available to host ALL (66) home games, evenings, and weekends from April through September
Physical and Work Requirements
- Ability to stand and move for extended periods.
- Available to work nights and weekends
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
