Position Overview
Join our seasonal grounds crew and play a hands-on role in keeping the IronBirds’ field in top-tier condition. This fast-paced position supports daytime, pre-game, and in-game field maintenance—from edging and mound repair to dragging the infield and assisting with on-field activities. If you’re detail-oriented, eager to learn, and ready to work outdoors in a team-focused environment, this is an excellent opportunity to grow your skills in turf and sports field management.

Job Responsibilities
  • Daytime: Assist with edging, bullpen maintenance, mound/plate repair, and setting up batting practice equipment
  • Pre-Game & In-Game: Assist with the removal of batting practices equipment, dragging of infield skin, chalking foul lines, removal of tarps, assisting with on-field activities
  • Assist with non-baseball field events
  • Other duties as assigned by Head Groundskeeper

Required Qualifications
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work and represent the IronBirds in a professional manner
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, and ability to work unsupervised
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability and willingness to learn new techniques, skills, and practices
  • Ability to work in adverse weather conditions and assist with the installation and removal of the field tarp in inclement weather situations
  • Work hours include daytime, evenings, weekends and some holidays, as applicable

Preferred Experience
  • Having/pursuing a turf management degree or prior turf experience

Attain Partners, the owner of the Aberdeen IronBirds, is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The individual hourly rate for this position is unique to each candidate and will be commensurate with experience, education, and skills, ranging from $15.00 - $18.00 per hour.
