The Sr. Director, Corporate Partnerships is a high-impact individual contributor responsible for delivering significant new-business revenue through transformative corporate partnerships for the Athletics, Sacramento River Cats, and Sutter Health Park.
This role is designed for a high-impact seller with a proven track record of sourcing, shaping, and closing complex, high-value deals. The ideal candidate combines executive-level sales acumen, strategic creativity, and relentless drive to win. They will operate with autonomy, own their pipeline, and be accountable for delivering material revenue growth that elevates the organization’s partnership portfolio.
We will be hiring two individuals for this role as we expand our Corporate Partnerships team to support MLB initiatives and growing sponsorship opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
Own the full sales lifecycle from sourcing to close, consistently exceeding aggressive annual new-business revenue targets
Build, manage, and self-generate a pipeline of high-value prospects across priority and emerging categories
Lead discovery, positioning, and negotiations with a focus on long-term, integrated partnerships
Deliver compelling, insight-driven proposals supported by data, audience analytics, and measurable ROI forecasting
Negotiate and close multi-year, seven-figure partnerships that deliver outsized value for both the organization and the partner
Partner with Legal, Finance, and Activation to structure agreements that optimize revenue and contractual flexibility
Ensure a clean, efficient handoff to Partnership Activation and maintain strategic involvement to reinforce long-term value and renewal potential
Leverage performance data, KPI tracking, and marketplace insights to articulate partnership impact and upsell opportunities
Identify growth, expansion, and category-exclusive opportunities across assigned accounts
Represent the organization with excellence at industry events and key prospect engagements to expand brand visibility
Maintain expert-level awareness of sponsorship trends, valuation developments, competitor activity, and innovation in partnership marketing
Qualifications:
Required Experience & Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sports Management, Communications, or related field
7+ years of high-performance corporate partnership sales experience, ideally within sports, entertainment, media, or premium brand environments
Exceptional track record of securing multiple seven-figure partnership deals and consistently exceeding revenue quotas
Proven closer with a competitive mindset, strong resilience, and demonstrated success independently sourcing new business
Advanced consultative selling, storytelling, and executive-level influencing skills
Strong business acumen and experience building financially sound, ROI-driven partnership models
Proficiency in CRM systems (Salesforce preferred), pipeline discipline, and executive-caliber written and verbal communication
Additional Requirements
Frequent evening and weekend work required during games and events
Travel required ~25% of the time for client meetings, prospecting, and industry events
Role requires consistent on-site presence for home games, partner engagements, and activation moments
Compensation:
This role offers a base salary range of $90,000 - $100,000, plus eligibility for commission and participation in a competitive team bonus pool. Final compensation will be determined within the stated range and will consider a candidate’s experience, demonstrated skills, and overall qualifications.
