The Sacramento River Cats are seeking Cooks for our concession, catering, and premium areas. Cooks will perform a variety of food preparation and plating for bulk food orders. NEW for 2024, preparing great food has its perks! Cooks and back of house positions now receive tips in addition to their hourly pay.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare food in accordance with health and safety guidelines.
• Prepare food in concession stands and complete preparation such as cooking fries, hot dogs, burgers, and assembling items for cashiers to hand to guests.
• Prepare food for picnics and premium areas as instructed. This will include making food from scratch, chopping/dicing vegetables and fruit, making appropriate portions, seasoning food, and ensuring food meets presentation standards.
• Transporting food and ingredients as needed between concession stands, warehouse, and/or kitchens.
• Cleaning is required in all roles such as wiping down work surfaces, cleaning dishes, and picking up trash.
• All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have a basic understanding of chopping/dicing, portion sizing, appropriate ratios in a dish, and seasoning.
• Must have the knowledge and ability to able to recreate recipes and dish presentations after it is demonstrated. Preferred experience with quick service food preparation, restaurant style food, and/or banquette style food.

Availability Requirements:

Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule to prepare food for baseball and non-baseball events. Most games are Tuesday through Sunday with cook shifts starting as early as 8am for main kitchens and prep and ending as late as closing for concession cooks. It is expected cooks can work the majority of the 75 scheduled home games.

Compensation and Perks:

This position is a seasonal, part-time role with a base rate of $16.50-$17.00 per hour PLUS generous tips. Final offers for this role will be made within the parameters of the salary range provided. In addition to compensation, employees can enjoy the following perks:
