The Community Coordinator will play an integral role in various aspects of the Sacramento River Cats’ community impact efforts. The Community Coordinator will focus on building and maintaining strong, positive relationships between the River Cats and the local community. This person will also work cross-functionally with other departments including marketing, ticket sales, and partnerships. The ideal candidate will have a passion for relationship building and for serving the community in meaningful and impactful ways.
Key Responsibilities:
Executing MLB-driven and MiLB-driven community programs including PLAY BALL Weekend, Copa de la Diversión, UMPS CARE, Joe Torre Safe at Home, Strike Out the Stigma, Stand Up for Cancer, etc.
Assist with the development and implementation of our social responsibility/heritage themed nights
Manage relationships and coordinate with local and national stakeholders while seeking opportunities for community impact
Research and schedule community events and select appearances for our street team and our mascot, Dinger.
Work closely with the Mascot Coordinator and the ticket team to facilitate Triple-A Assemblies and other community visits
Spearhead the River Cats Community Ticket donation program and fulfill all in-bound donation requests
Coordinate with the ticket team to distribute Kids Night Out community tickets
Identify, coordinate, and implement volunteer outings for the Cats Care volunteer program
Monitor, evaluate and report on the impact of community relations programs using data, feedback and cost analysis to inform future planning and drive improvement of community efforts
Act as liaison with the greater Sacramento community, fostering relationships with community partners
Minimum Qualifications
Previous experience in community relations, nonprofit programming, youth sports or event coordination.
Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to multitask, adapt and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Education and Experience:
College degree in marketing, business, public relations or related fields preferred.
Previous experience working with a sports team or in a community outreach role preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
Position will require extended periods of time working at a desk
Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions.
Compensation:
This position is a full-time role with an hourly range of $18-$19 ($37,440 - $39,520). Final offers for this role will be made within the parameters of the salary range provided. In addition to compensation, employees can enjoy the following perks:
