The Community Assistant will play an integral role in various aspects of the Sacramento River Cats’ community impact efforts. This person will also work cross-functionally with other departments including marketing, ticket sales, and partnerships. The ideal candidate will have a passion for relationship building and for serving the community in meaningful and impactful ways.
Key Responsibilities:
- Spearhead the River Cats Community Ticket donation program and fulfill all in-bound donation requests.
- Work closely with the Mascot Coordinator and the ticket team to facilitate Triple-A Assemblies.
- Research and schedule community events and select appearances for our street team and our mascot, Dinger.
- Identify, coordinate, and implement volunteer outings for the Cats Care volunteer program.
- Assist with executing league wide community initiatives as established by MiLB and MLB.
- Coordinate with the ticket team to distribute Kids Night Out community tickets.
- Act as liaison with the greater Sacramento community, fostering relationships with our community members.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be proficient in Outlook, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft Programs.
- Display excellent interpersonal, relationship building, and networking skills.
- Proven ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be available to work flexible hours including most home games, nights, and weekends.
- Must have reliable transportation as well as a valid driver’s license.
Education and Experience:
- College degree in marketing, business, public relations or related fields preferred.
- Previous experience working with a sports team or in a community outreach role preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
- Position will require extended periods of time working at a desk
- Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions.
Compensation:
This position is a part-time role with a base rate of $16.50 per hour. Final offers for this role will be made within the parameters of the salary range provided. In addition to compensation, employees can enjoy the following perks:
