At the center of it all is the Business Development Director — a dynamic leader who builds relationships that go far beyond the ballpark. By crafting innovative partnerships and collaborating across MiLB, MLB, and all Sutter Health Park events, this role ensures every brand activation makes a lasting impact.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the creation and execution of strategic corporate partnerships for the River Cats, Athletics, and other Sutter Health Park events.

  • Manage MiLB and MLB partnerships alongside the Partnership Services and Athletics Partnership teams, ensuring flawless execution and accurate proof of performance.

  • Develop bold, engaging sales collateral (print, digital, and video) in partnership with Marketing to bring pitches and proposals to life.

  • Build strong, authentic relationships within the Sacramento business community to acquire new business and deepen existing connections.

  • Partner with Event Services to create and implement promotions, themes, and activations that excite fans and deliver value for partners.

  • Maintain meticulous records — from proposals and LOAs to client files and reporting — ensuring transparency and accountability at every step.

  • Consistently meet or exceed sales goals, with an unwavering focus on integrity, innovation, and client satisfaction.

What We’re Looking For

  • A proven track record of partnership sales success, ideally in sports, entertainment, or tourism.

  • Confidence and polish when engaging with executive-level prospects and decision-makers.

  • A self-starter with a positive attitude, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to juggle multiple priorities.

  • Team player mindset with a commitment to collaboration across departments.

  • Strong presentation skills and the ability to connect partner objectives to creative, customized solutions.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

  • A valid driver’s license and local travel flexibility.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, sports management, advertising, or a related field preferred.

  • Demonstrated success in partnership sales with a focus on building long-term, high-value relationships.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Local travel is required for partner meetings and networking events.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, including nights, weekends, and occasional holidays.

  • Comfortable working both at a desk and in outdoor settings across varying weather conditions.

  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds as needed.

Compensation:

The expected annual base salary for this role is $68,640 - $70,500 plus an annual bonus based on achieving and exceeding department and organizational revenue goals. Final offers for this role will be made within the parameters of the salary range provided. Years of experience, skills, and other factors are considered when determining the salary offered. Total compensation & offer package will include the following:
