The Business Development Director will work closely with the River Cats Partnership Services Team, Kings Partnership Team, Athletics Partnership Team, River Cats Marketing Team, and River Cats President/COO to impact the Sacramento business community with cutting edge and strategic corporate partnerships for MiLB, MLB, and other Sutter Health Park events.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Responsible for working with the Partnership Services Team to create and execute Corporate Partnership Proposals, and Partnerships for River Cats and Athletics.
  • Responsible for working with the Partnership Services Team to execute MiLB national partnerships and provide accurate proof of performance.
  • Responsible for working with the Partnership Services Team and Athletics Partnership Team to execute MLB partnerships and provide accurate proof of performance.
  • Keep accurate sales files, customer service files, appointment schedule reports, etc.
  • Maintain a high standard of integrity during the sales and service process with each customer.
  • Works with Corporate Partnership Services team and Marketing team to develop cutting edge sales collateral in print, digital, and video format.
  • Works with Corporate Partnership Services team to develop accurate proposals and LOAs.
  • Works with Event Services to implement sales themes, promotions and events.
  • Network within the local business area to acquire new business.
  • Adhere to departmental processes, expectations, and accountability measures, including but not limited to reporting on meetings, pending proposals, and inviting the President to partner meetings as appropriate.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Demonstrated ability to meet aggressive sales goals and expectations each year.
  • Demonstrated ability to connect potential partner objectives with assets/solutions that will meet those objectives.
  • Self-starter with a positive attitude and demonstrated ability to manage and execute numerous tasks.
  • Commitment to teamwork.
  • Ability to speak to and interact with high level prospects with confidence.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs of Word, PowerPoint and Excel.

LICENSES/EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:

  • Must have a valid drivers license and insurance.
  • BA/BS in business, marketing, sports management, advertising, or another relevant field required.
  • Successful partnership sales experience, preferably in the sports, tourism, or entertainment industry.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to travel locally.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions.

COMPENSATION:

This position is a full-time, exempt role with an expected annual salary of $68,640 annually in addition to commission which will be earned on new sales and renewals. Final offers for this role will be made within the parameters of the salary range provided. Years of experience, skills, and other factors are considered when determining the salary offered.
