Job Summary

Sutter Health Park and the Sacramento River Cats view corporate partnerships as an innovative resource to engage our fans and community in our efforts to be the most welcoming and fun organization in sports. We are seeking an experienced and strategic Vice President of Partnerships who can bring this vision to life by leading all corporate partnership revenue and service initiatives for the venue. This role is responsible for driving revenue growth, developing high-impact partnership strategies, and overseeing best-in-class service delivery for corporate partners.

The Vice President will serve as the senior selling leader, managing key relationships, securing new partnerships, and leading a high-performing sales and service team. The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of sports and live entertainment partnerships, executive-level relationship management skills, and a proven ability to close and grow complex, multi-year deals.

 

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive corporate partnership strategy aligned with organizational revenue goals and long-term business objectives.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage the partnerships sales and service team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership and Kings partnership counterparts to identify enterprise-wide opportunities and shared revenue initiatives.

Partnership Development

  • Identify, negotiate, and secure new corporate partnerships with local, regional, and national brands.
  • Serve as the primary seller on high-value and strategic partnership opportunities, including entitlement areas, presenting sponsorships, and integrated marketing programs.
  • Cultivate and maintain senior-level relationships with key decision-makers and executives.

Service & Retention Excellence

  • Oversee the execution, fulfillment, and servicing of all partnership agreements, ensuring contractual delivery and partner satisfaction.
  • Implement best practices for partner engagement, reporting, and renewal strategy.
  • Ensure consistent communication, performance recaps, and ROI measurement to drive long-term retention and growth.

Revenue Growth & Innovation

  • Drive year-over-year revenue growth through new sales, renewals, and upsell opportunities.
  • Monitor industry trends and market dynamics to identify new inventory, categories, and revenue streams.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to develop integrated partnership platforms that enhance fan experience and partner value.

Stakeholder Collaboration & Representation

  • Work closely with Marketing, Broadcast, Food & Beverage, Promotions & Entertainment, Operations, Events, Community Relations, and Ticketing to ensure seamless execution of partnership initiatives.
  • Represent Sutter Health Park and the River Cats at games, events, partner meetings, and industry functions.
  • Serve as a senior spokesperson for the partnership program internally and externally.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sports Management, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in corporate partnerships or sponsorship sales, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven track record of securing, managing, and growing high-value corporate partnerships.
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Strong leadership abilities with experience managing sales and service teams.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and non-traditional hours as required by the event schedule.

 

Compensation

This position is a full-time, salary, exempt role with an expected annual base pay of $100,000 – $110,000 + commission and bonus. Final offers for this role will be made within the parameters of the salary range provided. Years of experience, skills, and other factors are considered when determining the salary offered. Total compensation & offer package will include the following:
