Ripken Baseball – Traveling National Youth Baseball and Softball Instructor 

As a Traveling National Youth Baseball and Softball Instructor, you will:

  • Join a continuous youth baseball and softball tour traveling across the country, teaching children ages 5-13 the fundamentals of baseball and softball, the Ripken Way
  • Travel from city to city across the United States to host one-day baseball and softball clinics free of charge for local kids
  • Learn how to operate the highest quality baseball and softball clinics in the nation from those who have created and implemented the standards and practices for an elevated experience 
  • Create a fun, dynamic atmosphere for clinic participants, developing camaraderie and acting as a positive role model
  • Operate sport-specific instructional stations including hitting, pitching, infield, outfield, and agility
  • Gain knowledge, experience, and training in management, coaching, and leadership while also working independently to assist with clinic operations
  • Make a positive impact on both children and local communities across the United States
  • Uphold the values and brand standards established by Ripken Baseball
  • Assist partner brand and agency representatives in event operations by setting up and breaking down production equipment and promotional items
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism while going above and beyond to provide extraordinary customer service
  • Aid in setting up and breaking down baseball and softball equipment at the start and end of each day as needed
  • Be considered to work for other Ripken Baseball opportunities at the conclusion of the tour, based on performance 
  • This position is paid with a bi-weekly stipend and can also be used for college credit
  • Travel Expenses (Hotel, Vehicles, and Gas) are included as a part of the position when on the tour as well as one team meal per week. 
Requirements:

  • Ability and willingness to be on the road traveling across the United States non-stop from mid-April through the end of August. All applicants MUST be available the ENTIRE stint.
  • Passion for both coaching and leading large groups of children
  • Past baseball experience with a strong understanding of the fundamentals of the game
  • Prior experience working with children, demonstrating patience, and being compassionate  
  • An outgoing, friendly personality with excellent communication skills, strong initiative, and a high level of energy 
  • Ability and willingness to physically perform all aforementioned job responsibilities 
Preferred Experience:

  • Prior coaching experience
  • Childcare, safety, and/or CPR training
  • Prior customer service experience
  • Previous experience managing a small group of peers
