Overview:
As the Softball Factory Operations Assistant, you will serve as the main point of contact for all Softball Introduction evaluation and video events. This position has a strong emphasis on building relationships with players and parents who enter our Softball Factory programs through our evaluation/video events. Candidates will need to have a working knowledge of the landscape of college softball (NCAA Div. I, II, III, NAIA, NCCSA and JUCO) and be able to evaluate players, correlate the importance of our evaluation/video program in the recruiting process to players and parents as well as provide corrective feedback to those players. This is a remote position, but some travel will be required.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain consistent communication via phone/Teams app with the Director of Softball.
- Work with Director of operations to help reserve, coordinate sites and secure qualified staffing for all intro evaluation/video programs.
- Maintain and oversee the Softball Factory players scouting, player rating, uploading the data and reporting of players in the evaluation and video program.
- Assign responsibilities, train, and work with the evaluation writer(s) to ensure all work is done in a professional manner and submitted on time consistent with the program expectations.
- Build relationships with top players and help promote our Player Development and E-Program.
- Work with the Director of Social Media to make sure videos and posts of the top performers at every evaluation are highlighted, submitted and posted.
- Be available to travel to evaluations as needed to oversee and train personnel.
- Be available to travel as needed to National Showcases, Player Development events and Softball Factory National Tournament team events as needed to assist and promote the evaluation/video program.
- Oversee and operate SF Player Development Training programs.
- Assist in planning and attend as needed Softball Factory Player Development Events such as Pre-Season All American, Academic All-American, All-State, All-Region and All Ripken.
- Provide feedback, help with placement of players, and assist with the E-Program as needed.
- The desire and ability to work together with the entire Factory Athletics, Ripken Baseball & Softball Factory Team for the betterment of the sport, the growth of our division and the players in our program.
- Set program goals, provide updates, and monitor progress.
- Other duties as assigned and needed for successful growth and operation of the Softball Factory and Ripken Athletics.
Qualifications:
Required:
· Bachelor’s Degree
· 3+ years of working with youth, parents, and coaches.
· Computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Teams.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills – ability to communicate with staff and prepare written reports.
Preferred:
· Softball skill and evaluation experience.
· Ability to provide exceptional customer service skills; ability to adhere to Company’s Service Standards.
· Strong time management and organizational skills
· Ability to self-direct work tasks and plan ahead.
· Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in fast-paced environment.
· Ability to work independently and as a team member.
· Willingness to work long hours and weekends as the business requires.
· Ability to stand for long periods of time, including walking long distances throughout the park during assigned shift.
· May be asked to routinely lift items of weight up to 30 lbs. to accomplish job duties.
· Must be able to work well in a fast-paced environment in large, crowded areas of outdoor park.
· Routinely exposed to extreme hot/cold weather conditions.
