Overview:
Under the direction of the General Manager, the Retail Coordinator will be responsible for directing and expanding the retail and merchandising business of Ripken Pigeon Forge. The Retail Coordinator will assist with setting the business direction for our retail opportunities, which includes driving strategic business initiatives as well as meeting the demands of the daily operation. Assist with buying, sales, operations, inventory management, and loss prevention.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute a profitable customer-focused merchandise and retail strategy while enhancing the customer experience and the corporate mission of growing the game of baseball
  • Assist with purchase of merchandise by making proper selections and negotiating most favorable costs and other terms of purchase in order to be more than competitively priced.
  • Monitor product sales, inventory turns, markdowns and all other costs to maximize sales and profitability of the company
  • Direct merchandise presentation, space allotment and point of purchase information for all retail operations
·         Maintain qualified retail staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training staff.  
·         Keep abreast of latest retail, merchandising and licensing innovations and concepts to maximize performance
·         Work cross-functionally with all organizational teams to achieve financial goals
·         Assist with preparing department budget and operate under budgetary guidelines
·         Effectively schedule and direct the workload of the retail staff, including: work schedules, posting the schedules weekly for the staff and assure staff performs tasks at an acceptable level
·         Adhere to all company policies, procedures, rules, regulations, standards, guidelines, expectations and requirements
·         Provide reporting leader with feedback, ideas and suggestions on a timely basis
·         Perform all other duties as assigned by reporting leader
 
Qualifications:
Required:
·         Minimum 2+ years experience in a mix of retail and merchandising operations. 
·         Track record of growing sales and margins
·         Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university
·         Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills
·         Experience in sports or licensing related businesses
·         Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time
·         Ability to develop strong partnerships internally and externally
·         Effective leadership skills
·         Positive and effective customer service skills
·         Strong sense of urgency
