Overview: The Retail and Merchandising Manager contributes to all aspects of Ripken Baseball’s retail operations, including in-venue retail, ecommerce and product procurement.  
 
Responsibilities:
·         Execute a profitable, customer-focused merchandise and retail strategy consistent with Ripken brand standards and positioning.
·         Conduct product procurement for in-venue stores, ecommerce, and event gifts and awards.
·         Guide product assortment and design, supported by brand marketing and executives.
·         Maintain processes and reports for all merchandise and retail functions – i.e. open to buy, inventory turns, loss prevention, purchasing and distribution – for in-venue stores and ecommerce.
·         Lead tournament t-shirt program, working closely with designers and creative team, marketing and printing decoration sources.
·         eCommerce product management including managing usage of Shopify, product setup, images, inventory, customer service and pricing updates.
·         Develop an eCommerce promotional marketing calendar to drive online sales through email and social channels.
·         Build new and maintain existing vendor relationships.
·         Manage customer service inquiries and issues for both eCommerce and Retail locations.
·         Train and mentor in-venue retail staff on product merchandising, promotion, inventory display, inventory control and POS systems.
·         Responsible for invoice reconciliation for product receipts working closely with property accountants to make sure payments can be made accurately and timely.
·         Lead inventory count process with all properties following company standards and guidelines.
·         Monitor retail, merchandising and licensing innovations and trends to maximize performance.
·         Report retail performance and advocate internally for product’s role in brand growth and strategy.
·         Work cross-functionally with organizational teams to achieve financial goals.
·         Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor.
 
Qualifications:
Required:
·         Minimum 5 years’ experience in retail management. 
·         Experience with multiple locations and seasonal retailing, with ability to track sales and grow margins.
·         Strong written and verbal communication skills.
·         Strong reasoning skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
·         Ability to stand, walk, and lift or move up to 50 lbs.
·         Ability to travel up to 20% of the year, with heavy travel expected from May to August.
·         Ability to make independent work-related decisions with limited supervision.
·         Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel (including pivot tables) and PowerPoint, Square POS and Shopify admin.
