The Terre Haute REX is looking for a Radio Play-by-Play Intern for the 2024 summer baseball season (May 2024-August 2024).  As a Intern, you will be allowed to experience and partake in the broadcasting aspect of how a professional baseball team operates. 
This is an unpaid Internship and no housing is provided. Although we do partner with Indiana State University for you to rent a dorm room.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: 
  • Communicate interesting storylines and commentary while accurately describing the game to listeners on air.
  • Broadcast for BOTH home and away games. Transportation, food, and hotel provided for away games
  • Compile and distribute game notes, stats, and starting line-ups.
  • Communicating through all Social Media outlets
  • Prepare game recaps each night to distribute to the media after the game.
  • Reading ad scripts in between innings
  • Assist the Play-By-Play Broadcaster in writing press releases and stories for the webpage and program as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Experience in sports play-by-play and color broadcasting
  • Knowledge of all applicable baseball Rules and Regulations
  • Skill in operation of control board, remote broadcasting, and other related production equipment is liked but not necessary
  • Strong writing skills
  • Knowledge of Social Media
  • Candidates must be reliable, detail-oriented, able to problem solve and think on their feet, juggle and prioritize multiple projects at one time to ensure completion promptly, and have a strong work ethic and a teamwork mentality.
  • The position starts end of May and concludes at the end of the season, end of July/early August.
