REX Baseball is a collegiate summer wood-bat team in Terre Haute, IN, competing in the Prospect League. Since its founding in 2010, REX Baseball has captured two Prospect League Championships (2015 & 2018) and has built a reputation for helping staff and athletes advance to the next level. We’ve had former interns and staff go on to work for major sports organizations like the NFL, NBA, MLB, MiLB, PGA, UFC, and more.

If you're passionate about live event entertainment, sports communication, and creating an engaging fan experience, this internship will give you hands-on experience in a fast-paced, exciting sports environment. You’ll work closely with our game-day operations and entertainment staff, helping deliver a professional and energetic atmosphere for fans, players, and coaches while gaining valuable experience in sports entertainment and public speaking. This internship is available only to college students seeking UNPAID college credit or experience to build a standout resume.

Qualifications/Requirements:
  • The official regular home season begins May 30th and ends August 1st, with the potential to host playoff games through the first week of August.
  • Complete internship dates: May 26th to August 12th, including setup and teardown for pre/post season.
  • Must be able to work all 2026 home games.
  • Must possess strong public speaking and communication skills with the ability to speak clearly and confidently in front of large crowds.
  • Ability to maintain high energy and enthusiasm throughout the duration of games and promotional events.
  • Comfortable working with scripts, lineups, sponsor reads, and in-game promotional material.
  • Strong understanding of baseball terminology, rules, and game flow preferred.
  • Ability to adapt quickly during live events and respond professionally in fast-paced situations.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Public Address & In-Game Entertainment:
  • Serve as the official Public Address Announcer for all REX Baseball home games and special events.
  • Deliver player introductions, starting lineups, sponsor reads, promotional announcements, and in-game updates in a professional and energetic manner.
  • Coordinate with game-day staff, scoreboard operators, music operators, and promotions teams to ensure smooth timing and execution of all announcements.
  • Assist in creating an exciting and engaging atmosphere that enhances the fan experience throughout the game.

Game-Day Preparation & Operations:
  • Prepare and organize scripts, rosters, pronunciation guides, sponsor reads, and promotional materials prior to each game.
  • Attend pre-game meetings and communicate with coaches, media staff, and operations personnel regarding game-day updates and timing.
  • Ensure all announcements are accurate, timely, and aligned with league and organizational standards.

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Assist with guest relations and answer fan questions on game days.
  • Support merchandise sales, ticketing operations, and other game-day needs as required.
  • Serve as Manager of the Day for one game to gain leadership experience.
