The Springfield Lucky Horseshoes, a summer wood-bat baseball team in the Prospect League, are looking for a talented and energetic performer to become the team's mascot Horace Shoe, for games and community appearances. The performer will meet fans, take pictures, interact with the crowd, perform skits, and work closely with the ‘Shoes marketing and promotions teams to showcase the team.

The Mascot Performer plays a large role in the overall fan experience. The season runs from end of May to end of July.  Must be available for each home game, along with any additional duties assigned throughout the season.

●       Engage with guests while in costume, display enthusiasm and high energy always to elevate the experience

●       Preserve the identity of the mascot without deviating from established character including body language/mannerisms, attitude, and fan interaction (no speaking while in costume)

●       Perform during in-game promotion activities and fulfill entertainment and marketing agreements with community partners

●       Represent the ‘Shoes at a wide range of club sponsored community outreach events

●       Responsible for entertaining guests and being involved in various activities and events throughout the summer

●       Consistently execute care and maintenance to ensure costume is always in operational, guest-ready, condition

●       Will be trained and cross utilized to support other activities and departments as required

●       Other duties as assigned

●       Previous experience as a mascot, dancer or as an actor/actress preferred.

●       Requires ability to work flexible schedule including nights and weekends

●       Comfortable interacting with all levels within organization as well as outside contacts

●       Cooperation, responsiveness, dependability, and proper attitude in dealing with others including co-workers and customers
